Inside the Last Ditch Effort for Republicans to Block Donald Trump
ABC News ^ | June 9, 2016 | ALANA ABRAMSON , Chris Good and JOHN KRUZEL

With disapproval among the GOP mounting over Donald Trump’s controversial comments about the ethnicity of a federal judge, chatter is surfacing about ways to block the real estate mogul’s nomination at the convention in Cleveland this summer.

“I think the party ought to change the nominee, because we’re gonna get killed with this nominee,” said conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. “They ought to get together and let the convention decide.”

Steve Deace, another conservative radio host, has also been calling on GOP convention delegates to revolt.

Right. That’s what I have been asking myself. These people are bought and sold by - whomever, and they have nothing but contempt for the will of the people. They’re paid gasbags.

When our kids were little (3 or 4 years old) we would take them to the pizza parlor and they would “play” the video games without inserting money. They were “playing” the demo, but they thought they were really controlling the game.

This is the case with Limbaugh, Levine, Hewitt, and other GOPe’s. They are “playing” the game, thinking that they are in control. Suddenly, however, they discovered they are not in control. The people are!

;-)

I keep hearing how these people - Beck, Levin, Kristol, etc. are “true” Conservatives, yet they have ZERO Conservative values. Open borders is NOT a Conservative value; yet that is what the “true” Conservatives want. Unlimited debt is NOT a Conservative value; yet that is what the “true” Conservatives want. Letting the regime continue to take away liberties is NOT a Conservative value; yet that is what the “true” Conservatives want.

Come to think about it, I can’t think of a single Conservative value they hold. So why are they called Conservatives?

These born again pseudo conservatives, with their running off to conspire a take over, are terrified of the people having power, just like the liberals.

It’s not that they worry Trump will lose, they know he will win.

Hugh, you’re (a) a smart man and (b) as relevant or more so to this discussion, a Californian. You have to know that if you stiff the million-plus Republican primary voters here alone who just picked Trump running away over Kasich and Cruz, it will have consequences both for the California GOP and the national party, none of them good. I already went no-party-pref last year because I saw the mess coming. I can tell you that if you guys succeed in doing this, I will never come back and I will never vote for another Republican. Never. Ever. Ever. Have fun storming the castle.

Hugh Hewitt wrote a book called, “A Mormon in the White House” about Mitt Romney. Why is it O.K. to use religion in such a way?

Mitt and the rest are all riding in dog crates strapped to the tops of the cars in Hilarita Clintonista’s motorcade....

Good one! I would love to see that as a political cartoon.

Yup...there’s been issues like this with Rush secretly meeting with Chuck Schumer & Levin having family working for Cruz & not telling his audience.

I wonder if Alana Abramson, Chris Good and John Kruzel heard about the criminal investigation that’s being done by the FBI on Hillary?

She IS THE FIRST PERSON to be the presumptive Democrat nominee for President who is also being investigated for CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.

And the story?

That none of the nitwits in her party are bothered by it - - not one bit. And the press is NOT running around asking democrats how they can back someone under a federal criminal investigation.

Why isn’t the press asking democrats THE question? Can Alana Abramson, Chris Good or John Kruzel explain?

Hugh, you’re (a) a smart man...

The evidence suggests otherwise. Blocking Trump from the nomination will fatally taint whoever might replace him as the nominee. There's no path to a victory.

Perhaps if they asked themselves how they might explain their betrayal to the millions who voted for Trump...they would stop this folly.

Do these people think that they are going to have any audience left without Trump? Hillary lovers are going to keep them going? Beck, Levin, Hewitt...who is going to trust them again much less waste time listening to them (or, more importantly, their advertisers)?

IOW - they think “The Party” (reminds one of “La Raza”) should openly declare what it thinks - the People are of no concern and, like the Constitution for Obama, are only impediments to those that would rule us....

I think those in the republican establishment are in full on panic because they believed Hillary was going to sail into the Presidency. That was the plan! That is what they want!

Trump is a far better candidate than McCain or Romney.

This is exhibit A of what is wrong with the republican party. They are so in the tank for DC political correctness that they have completely disconnected from their voters.

They are oblivious to the fact that without voters, a political party has no reason to exist. They think of themselves as aristocrats rather than politicians.

They would be happy losing for the party, the voters, and the country as long as they maintain their aristocracy. Which they can do just as well as lobbyists as they can holding office.

These people need to be chased out of Washington and never allowed to return. They are a cancer.

Besides the RAT RINO infil-traitors, there are the establishment types who are miffed that Trump did not pay his party dues, get in line and wait his turn.
