Attended by Europe's most powerful people, the opening ceremony of the Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland was a dark, disturbing, weirdly satanic ritual. Here's a look at another celebration of the occult elite. Measuring over 57 km and costing over 11 billion Euros, the Gotthard Base Tunnel is world's longest and most expensive tunneling project in History. Going through the Swiss Alps, the tunnel took 17 years to complete and is said to be a symbol of European unification in a context of rising nationalism and closing borders.
To celebrate the inauguration of this tunnel, an elaborate ceremony was presented in front of European dignitaries such as Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, President Francois Hollande of France and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. While most would expect an up-beat, celebratory ceremony, guests were rather treated to a disturbing show orchestrated by German director Volker Hesse, where a man dressed as a goat presided a strange ritual. The main thing it does is cut down on all the international traffic that was tying up all the roads in Switzerland.
That “ceremony” was worse than I could have ever imagined.
Europe is much further gone than I realized.

What I wanna know, is how do these jokers do this kindof crap and maintain a straight face? 'Course, they may say the same of some of the Superbowl Halftime Shows I've seen over the years.
I think it’s just an artist compensating for his very mediocre talent by attempting to shock; and hanging it all on some local folklore for a few shreds of legitimacy.

A mishap occurred during construction and quite a few people died. It’s in the video.
They have emergency tunnels paralleling it or it would have been far worse.
It seems that just a generation ago, the Swiss, be they Roman Catholic or Calvinist, had a reputation for being devout Christians.
Whatever happened to things like “cutting the ribbon” ?
I don’t know what to think about this. Is this charge true?
Can’t they just bring out the mayor’s wife to smash a bottle of champagne and say “May God bless this tunnel, and all who travel through her...”
and be done with it?
