Donald Trump urged his supporters during a Monday conference call to defend his controversial accusation that a federal judge is unfit to rule in a Trump University fraud case because of his Hispanic heritage, Bloomberg reported.
Trump was defiant, despite the rash of criticism he's faced from Republicans and Democrats alike, according to a description of the call to Bloomberg by two supporters who participated.
"We will overcome," Trump said. "And I’ve always won and I’m going to continue to win. And that’s the way it is."
He went on to declare that his surrogates should specifically target journalists who are bringing up the issue.
"The people asking the questions — those are the racists," Trump added. "I would go at 'em."
When former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Trump supporter, told the presumptive GOP presidential nominee that the campaign's surrogate handler specifically emailed about steering clear of the controversy, Trump bristled.
"Take that order and throw it the hell out," he said, repeatedly demanding to know who sent the memo, Bloomberg reported. When told the memo was sent by Erica Freeman, a staffer who sends information to surrogates, Trump said he didn't know her, Bloomberg reported.
"Are there any other stupid letters that were sent to you folks? … That's one of the reasons I want to have this call, because you guys are getting sometimes stupid information from people that aren't so smart."
Trump has repeatedly questioned Judge Gonzalo Curiel, arguing that his Mexican heritage makes him biased in the case because of Trump's plan to build a border fence along the Mexican border.
Instead of walking that back, he doubled down over the weekend, floating the prospect that a Muslim judge might be similarly biased against him and unfit to preside in a case he's involved in.

This has nothing to do with the US or making it great again.
It is a side issue a Trump is making the centerpiece of his campaign.

Wrong. Trump is 10 steps ahead. This case is being run by a judge who has ties to known subversive groups. These groups are the same people who are terrorising the Trump political rallys. Members of these organization include the Mayor and the police chief of San Diego.
Additionally, the judge is a Obama appointee whose organization donated $700K to the Clinton Foundation. This same foundation that is funding the terrorists attacking innocent american citizens.
Trump is about to tie a big bow around all of it and hang it around Hillary’s neck.
O’Reilly said (on tonight’s show) that he (this judge) is a current member of La Raza Lawyers Assn......whatever that is.
I think knows what he’s doing. This is going to go just like all of the other “outrageous” things he’s said. It’s more free publicity.
I sure hope Trump’s getting ready to let the next shoe drop, namely the legal activism of the judge. He needs to finish this match off with a coup de grace.
What should he have called him? If he’s a Mexican then what is wrong with saying that? It seems like calling someone what they are shouldn’t be considered a slur.
Of course the judge is La Raza and biased.
Trump’s lawyers should be able to get him removed.
But it is none of my business. I don’t care.
Trump University is a private issue.

The difference is obvious. Trump is white, incredibly wealthy, successful and therefore not entitled to a fair trial, and heaven forbid he point out uncomfortable truths about some activist judge who belongs to a protected class of people, er, I mean minority.

This is a La Raza Judge, A racist, pro illegal anti wall, pro Hillary.
He sits on a board that gives out scholarships to Illegals. He has ruled biased. When the designated Class rep was so bad it damaged the case she was withdrawn and the case has no named plaintiff for the class. The Judge refused to dismiss it. He also tried to punish Trump with the release of protected and personal information and then resealed it.
