Sure, he was a great fighter, but you don’t lower The Stars and Stripes for a draft-dodger.
If you care to share your thoughts about lowering the flag to half mast with Mayor Greg Fischer, you can use the links below:

My family knew this fellow well. My uncle, Angelo Dundee, was his trainer. “Cassius Clay” was how we knew him. We never quite understood what the attraction was to Islam. He did so well in this country; made a lot of money. He was a better boxer than a man.
My flag will continue to fly at full mast.
I am probably going to get attacked for this, but having the flags at half mast for a person found guilty of draft evasion, because he wouldn’t fight the white man’s war thus refusing to join the thousands that gave their all for the country, some still suffering today, should not have a flag lowered for him. I wasn’t aware being a criminal is grounds for recognition only awarded to heroes of this country. And the main reason he didn’t go to jail was that the federal and state governments were afraid of the backlash. Only his notoriety kept him out. And he is receiving the honor the same as out fallen heroes?

I loved Ali, but, the poor soul was used and abused, by those around him. They used him for their ugly political gain & motives and they then they stole his money & wealth. God made him to be a champion, which he became, was & always will be!!! But...he was short of “common sense”, and was easily led, by those with their own evil intentions & convictions. America allows, and the left-wing, low life, vermin, do this all the time to a large portion of our gifted, but, flawed, people. They rank, terribly abuse of them, and, then discard like they ware throwing away garbage!!! Where were the good shepards of the Lord, when you needed them?
Ali, my son, Ali....RIP, with all of your human faults, which we all have, You amazed us all with your fantastic boxing skills, you entertained us, charmed us, made us laugh, made the world a better place, loved your country & loved the world, loved all people & suffered illness with your unending dignity, courage and grace!!! Thank you, for being a man for all seasons!!! I will always love and honor you, sir,....for you did nothing but bring good & brightness to the world, at the end of the day!! Bravo!!!
Those flags should fly half mast for the boys from Louisville who served in Vietnam and never came home.
This for the guy who rejected and refused to serve his country, what a disgrace. He is not worthy of this honor.
This coming week is gonna be like when Nelson Mandala died, or worse.
This half-staff business is getting out of hand. Only the president and state governors have the legal authority to order the national colors lowered to half staff. But what do laws mean anymore?
Any more news on all the dead soldiers at Ft Hood? Nah, just news on Ali.
the greatest, my ass. In his prime, Mike Tyson would have knocked out Ali in his prime, in about 22 seconds. the greatest mouth, the greatest troublemaker, perhaps.
no half mast for a draft dodger
