I have a problem with people (not you) referring to a lectern as a podium. You stand on a podium and you stand behind a lectern. Music conductors stand on a podium (as an example).

Seriously...this animates you? I think we all knew what was meant...don’t you?
I have a problem with people who make big deals out of little things. Get a grip.
It animates me as well. When we lose precision in language, we lose clarity in thought. Why bother having names for anything? I guess we should all just point and grunt.
George Carlin has a great chapter in his book (sorry, don't recall the name) all about these things.
I guess you can add: adding the word 'way' as in this is way expensive rather than 'too' expensive and also: 'these ones'.
I guess it's the result of a proper home schooling.
Finally it's way of striking back on all those other anal cavities that seem they need to correct other people's spelling or grammar.
But then, once in a while I will purposely mispill a word or deliberately using poor grammar just to give those folks something to bark abaout.
There are people here, like you I suppose that the only reason for their existence here is to monitor those posts that some how irritate them and have to say their two cents worth.
Thanks for playing and have a nice day.
Losing our language by polluting the meaning of words
IS NO LITTLE THING! You need the grip.
