I certainly don't agree.
Let's be frank: By any metric they sucked at what they did. That is why actual facts about them are not discussed, only the awesome fact that they are black.
IIRC they did not shoot down a single German fighter, ever.
They served their country so regardless of skin color or PC revisionism they are worthy of praise in my opinion.
Your opinion is rather...
BIASED
However, the claim that they "sucked" -- comparatively speaking -- is true.
"[based on] the stats on all of the 16 fighter groups flying in the Eighth Air Force over western Europe [...] the Tuskegee Airmen rank at the bottom of the list despite the fact that they had four squadrons to only three for the 8th AF groups. FYI, and one of the reasons the T/A exploit their 15,000+ sorties (which they call missions) is that on a normal mission they would put up 64 fighters compared to only 48 for the 8th AF groups . And, since they did mostly ground support missions rather than bomber escort missions, the average length of their missions was about half that of the time in the air flown by the 8th AF fighters"

So, they wren't as good as the other units with comparable missions. They still defended Americans of all colors, and we value their service, which should not be politicized by race-baiters like the pResident's Beard.
1578 combat missions, 1267 for the Twelfth Air Force; 311 for the Fifteenth Air Force
179 bomber escort missions,[38] with a good record of protection,[59] losing bombers on only seven missions and a total of only 27, compared to an average of 46 among other 15th Air Force P-51 groups[61]
112 enemy aircraft destroyed in the air, another 150 on the ground[38] and 148 damaged
950 rail cars, trucks and other motor vehicles destroyed (over 600 rail cars[38])
One destroyer put out of action. The ship concerned had been classified as a destroyer (Giuseppe Missori) by the Italian Navy, before being reclassified by the Germans as a torpedo boat, TA 22. It was attacked on 25 June 1944. The German Navy decommissioned it on 8 November 1944, and finally scuttled it on 5 February 1945.[35][62][63]
40 boats and barges destroyed[38]
The combat record of the Tuskegee Airmen speaks for itself:
over 15,000 combat sorties (including 6000+ for the 99th prior to July ‘44)
111 German airplanes destroyed in the air, another 150 on the ground
950 railcars, trucks, and other motor vehicles destroyed
1 destroyer sunk by P-47 machine gun fire (Lt. Pierson’s flight)
sixty-six pilots killed in action or accidents
thirty-two pilots downed and captured, POWs
150 Distinguished Flying Crosses earned
744 Air Medals
8 Purple Hearts
14 Bronze Stars
“IIRC they did not shoot down a single German fighter, ever.”
Not true; they never had an air ace in their group, which required downing five enemy planes, but they had some who shot down four. And the claim they never lost a bomber that they escorted is not true; they lost 27 under their protection. They were not superior to the white groups, but they were not inferior to them, either. They did fine.
