Donald Trump on Friday said it would be “inappropriate” to hold a debate with Bernie Sanders, throwing cold water on an idea that had captivated the political world in recent days.
"As much as I want to debate Bernie Sanders — and it would be an easy payday — I will wait to debate the first place finisher in the Democratic Party, probably Crooked Hillary Clinton, or whoever it may be," Trump said in a statement.
The presumptive GOP presidential nominee added that it "seems inappropriate" to debate the "second place finisher."

Good move! He just raised the stakes for a debate with Mrs. Bill Clinton. He’ll shame her into a debate, with no way out. The pressure is on her to perform, and we all know how that will work out...cough cough.

Yep, Trump, a self-made billionaire many times over and the Republican nominee, is scared of crazy old Bernie. Bernie, who has never accomplished anything beyond tricking idiots to vote for him.

Trump screwed up here, but it will be forgotten in less than a week.
the danger in debating sanders is Trump destroys him as expected, hillary’s campaign continues downhill and the rats turn to joe biden, the dumbest human being on the face of the earth...
I think he will debate him, and his hand will not be shown at all. Because he could debate Bernie much differently then he would Hillary. The fact that battered women would receive a substantial donation would only play to enhance his standing as well.
I posted yesterday that it made no sense for Trump to debate Sanders. Everyone told me it was a “brilliant move”; sheer genius.

I agree with this decision. I would have enjoyed but it was too much circus. I had strong fears of the two sides clashing. I have no doubt that communist thugs would have started hurting Trump supporters. No doubt at all. You will see these communists in Cleveland ( and Philadelphia) They must be isolated and kept apart from the party at all costs. Otherwise I predict Trump people will take over the hard way.

To debate was brilliant as long as both sides agreed that they wouldn’t turn their guns on each other. It had to be 2 hours of bashing Hillary. This would have been an epic bashfest. Not counting it out yet.
