Seriously, they’ve got to be scared to death. God help them.
I just Googled “Horse Cave KY” a while ago and it had links to a couple of news reports saying the people had all gotten out safely. One was WBKO. They were out by 4:30 p.m. (I think that would be Central Time—that county is in the Central Time Zone but very close to the border with the Eastern Time Zone).
Well, right out of the horses mouth!!
Does look interesting, very different than what most people envision. Bet the water level rose very quickly.
Yikes! Neck deep for my husband (6’2”) or me (5’4”)?
That gets a “like”.
I’m sure he would carry you.
Until the water reaches the roof...
When we were there, the guides said it was really spooky how fast the water could rise. When you go down there you can see what they mean. It feels like a catch basin for the area.

Authorities say all 19 people who were trapped in a Kentucky cave have waded through neck-deep water to get out.
Hart County Emergency Management Director Kerry McDaniel says the group of Clemson University students walked out of the cave without assistance Thursday after being trapped by rising water.
So glad they got out. How terrifying that must have been! Nightmare scenario.
My grandmother used to play near the mouth of the cave when she was a little girl before it became a national park. I don’t know if she was relations with some of the people who owned the cave land before then.
They got out.
Amen on that. Mammouth Cave is properly named. Just amazing.

The name kind of implies that it’s one big cave. They’ve mapped out 300 miles of the interconnected cave system and are nowhere near done exploring it.
