HORSE CAVE, Ky. (AP) -- Authorities say rising water from heavy rains has trapped 19 people in a Kentucky cave.
Horse Cave Fire Chief Donnie Parker says Thursday that two tour groups are trapped in Hidden River Cave in south-central Kentucky.
Parker says two local police officers who tried to rescue the tourists are among those still inside. He says the tour groups have been in the cave for several hours.

*prayers up*
Crazy thing is that in most crazy sports, some of the best at it form up rescue teams, and practice this kind of scenario “just in case.”
Some very talented spelunkers are on the case, you can bet. Top shelf cavers, along with EMT/paramedics/dive team guys from local LE.
If the stranded victims are in a decent air pocket, help will get there.
Horse Cave is a few miles east of Mammoth Cave.
Radar doesn’t look good...heavy rain will continue for a few more hours.
Good thing it wasn’t Miller’s Cave.
I’ve been in that cave multiple times, there’s no spelunking to it. It is underneath a museum. And knowing how responsible the people who give the tours are the rising waters had to come very very quickly.
This cave is in the middle of downtown. It’s actually quite interesting to see in person.
You would think “Hidden River Cave” isn’t where you want to go, but back in the day we explored “Wayne’s Lost Cave.” So we were up for anything.
Didn’t know that, thanks.

Authorities say all 19 people who were trapped in a Kentucky cave have waded through neck-deep water to get out.
Boy, Millers Cave is a real bear. You made me spit my Merlot across the table.
Where did you hear this? WOWK has not reported it yet.
Sorry about your wine. I didn’t figure on anyone remembering that song. :o)
Cave? Are they Amish refugees?
All out safely
Or Floyd Collins....
Scuba gear.
I’ve been to Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky. It would scare the crap out of me to be trapped down there.
We`ve sold tobacco a few times at the floors that have
shut down now.Hated to see them shut.
It really is a pretty good cave to tour, just not while
its raining hard.
