Just another on line media twit typing out what he/she thinks we want to hear...
I don’t believe a word of it...
Is this Leader No. 10,487? /s
"We will kill the infidel dogs until- hey, does anyone else hear that humming noi-" [ka-boom!]
This is the fallacy of the strategy. The police learned this lesson during the early gang wars. Take out the head (put him in prison) or kill him and anew leader springs up. There are wharf 70,000 isis fighters. They need to be decimated and kill a many as we can top to bottom.
Likely killed = likely alive and well laughing at us
There is no way to win in Afghanistan. It’s historically the graveyard of empires. The Soviet empire was ended there, the British empire was ended there... even way back to the days of Alexander the Great who swept through known lands like a scythe, his empire died there as well. And the American Empire is dying there as we speak. 15 years in and basically nothing has changed.

Death to Ame.....[signal loss]
Somehow we let Bin Laden escape into Pakistan. We should have followed him and killed him than. I agree about Afghanistan except for the Brits. They had empire till after world war !!. But Afghan is just rcks and mountains. We should have done what we went to do and got out.
Just more #2.....
Ping
He was contacted on the golf course afterwards and appeared to nod as he was putting.
Obozo had probably turned down the op several times before, as he had with Bin Laden.
btw, why on earth do such targetings need to wait for any approval from the WH???? These missions should be decided by field commanders with full authority to make the best judgment..... although I suppose given the political hell of DC politics there is a lot of ass covering going on in the Pentagon......
Afghanistan is a problem because of Pakistan. If they actually sealed the border, didn’t aid, arm, and harbor them, then the Taliban would have withered away by now.
The Pakis need to be afraid of us more than they are of wanting influence in Afghanistan.
There’s no way to seal that border... it’s some of the most remote and rugged mountains in the world. Same reason it’s impossible for anyone to bring Afghanistan under unified control - terrain makes power projection so difficult even the most powerful militaries the world has ever known have failed miserably at it.
I think one thing we should take away from Afghanistan after Russia’s folly there and our nation building efforts there is that there are just some places when they misbehave you just bomb and leave. They get the message after you rinse and repeat a few times. Yes, they will be angry but after a while they will forget it and return to killing each other.Afghanistan is the poster child for that approach.
For some odd reason I cannot believe there was much to do back then.
