Donald Trump has hired hundreds of people throughout his career and soared to national fame as the star of a reality TV show dubbed the "ultimate job interview."
Now, as the Republican Party's presumptive presidential nominee, Trump is beginning the most consequential interview process of his lifetime: choosing a vice president.
While Trump has never before had to pick a political partner, he has had plenty of practice sifting through resumes and hand-picking executives to help run his real estate empire. Four current and past senior managers at the Trump Organization who agreed to speak with CNN -- including the general managers of the Trump golf course in Los Angeles and the Trump International Hotel in New York -- shed light on how Trump deliberates over his corporate hires -- and what kind of qualities Trump likes in a No. 2.
"Many of the same qualities that he would look for for someone to work closely with him within his organization are going to apply to his search for a VP," said Jill Martin, vice president and assistant general counsel for the Trump Organization.
Deeply loyal
Martin and others describe a boss who demands deep loyalty, both to him and his franchise. He is drawn to conventional markers of prestige, such as Ivy League degrees or past employment at well-known firms. He can be somewhat of a micromanager, at times involved in even the minutiae of decorating decisions throughout his numerous properties. Despite exerting this level of control, he also takes to employees who push back and speak their minds -- as long as they remember he is u

But, we will see soon enough.
Oh horsecrap. You’re demanding FW prove a negative, then whine about being called names for being intransigent.
Face it. If you’re a big enough ass, there is no reasonable response beside contempt.
Beware anyone who rests their argument on plausible deniability.
Christie will have a place in a Trump administration, I do believe that. But, what does he bring to the table that Trump doesn’t already have?
Good advice! Though I must say, when I hear the words, ‘plausible deniability,’ all I can think of is Cruz. That seemed to be his MO in a nutshell: i.e.: to say something, but always to have a way to deny it if the political winds shifted. (Two words: poison pill. What a farce!)
By the end, Cruz seemed to be trying to have so many things both ways that it’s no wonder his campaign flamed out. Rather, it’s frankly amazing that it lasted as long as it did.
Maga!
Since you mean what you say, then you actually believe Trump will cut 100,000s of government jobs? Further, do you base this belief that he will do so on the fact that he is businessman? My disagreement with those statements then means you believe I know exactly squat...” You made no effort to explain your statements but resorted to ad hominem attacks me.
You describe me as an angry teenager and claim I know “exactly squat about businessmen and how successful business execs operate”. Then you go on to describe me as Cruz supporter which you will prove by digging into my previous posts. Having failed at pinning Cruz on me you resort to my use of “Trumpnuts” as if it bolsters your case for the assertions you made and restated by me in the first paragraph above.
You speak with such clarity that I heard you both times you said you would not discuss this further.
He claimed I disliked Trump because I liked Cruz. Then he further claimed he would prove this by digging through my past posts. I am not asking him to disprove anything. It is fair to ask him if my past posts show if I like Cruz since he first made the argument.
Follow me on this...
* Trump needs to get things through the House and Senate.
* With Newt as Chief of Staff, he can work Bills through the House with him.
* And with Paul as Presiding over the Senate he has got a contact with the Senate to maneuver through that mind field.
* More So...
* IMHO Mitch McConnell owes Rand.....
* Say what you will about Matt Bevin as a Senate Candidate, he is the Gov. now, and is not to be taken lightly IMHO. Without Rand endorsing McConnell it might have been Senator Bevin.
* As a Fellow Freeper noted they have seen Sanders and Paul bumper stickers on cars in College / Liberal areas.
* FWIW, the Bernsters are not going to pull the lever for Kim Jong Shrill.
* As someone who is around kids I have noted the Millennial interest in Rand and I think he could swing a number of disaffected Bernie Voters to Trump, they like him he has got that Uncandidate Hipster thing going on and they dig it.
Two other things....
* Rand bowed out early with grace.
* And he was the only one to talk about cutting government and the debt, something that Trump around the edges has noted.
Sounds like a win / win to me...
Haven’t been much of a Rand Paul fan but I’m agreeing with your points. Strategywise it sounds very good. Needs sleeping on ;)
One thing I forgot was Paul's Endorsement of Trump 100% without condition.
Pick Kasich. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take Kasich. He is the best. He even has a direct line to the Pearly Gates and St. Peter. He has helped the poor!
If that doesn’t happen then pick a VP who will help win. I an not seeing a win just yet and I do not see how Rand helps.
Jeff Kuhner of WRKO 12 noon to 3 Pm out out Boston will have Senator Rand Paul on next week and said he will ask will you accept if you are asked to be VP.
I can't wait to listen...

I see a lot of nonsensical banter going on between the two of you, and for what purpose?
I am interjecting myself into the 'conversation' to comment on Jimmah and Mitt...
Jimmah was a peanut farmer. I have been to Plains, Georgia, during the time he was President. I even visited Billy's gas station in Plains. I was with a businessman from Americus, Georgia, 10 miles from Plains. He said he used to have respect for the presidency, until Jimmah was elected. He said he went to school with Jimmah, had business dealings with him. He had no respect for Jimmy Carter. Jimmah was hardly a businessman, in the context of one of Donald Trump's caliber.
Mitten's claim to fame was Bain Capital. Bain was a venture capital company. They took control of desperate companies in attempts to turn them around. Most lost everything and employees lost their jobs. Mitt made his money on a few successful turnarounds after cutting payrolls etc. He did not build anything. Not exactly a businessman, certainly not of Donald Trump's caliber. And interestingly, in the campaign of 2012, he never sought to defend the attacks on Bain Capital.
Donald Trump is a very successful businessman. We have never had a President or a Presidential Candidate that approaches his caliber of success. He is successful in some interesting ways...projects completed under budget...projects completed early...
He has said what he will do, and it resonates with the American people, the electorate. He is not politically correct, and that resonates with the American people. He calls a Spade a Spade!
Will all of his campaign rhetoric result in fact after he is President? Depends on Congress. When he wins, and I believe he will, he will 'coattail' many Republicans into Congress.
Donald Trump is the first 'Peoples Candidate' for President since Ronald Reagan.
It is time for all of us to quit bickering and unite for the rebuilding of America...Home of the Brave, Land of the Free!
How about Herman Cain?
The thing that made me pay attention to Trump is that he exemplifies the boldness and energy we need to make big changes and overcome. I think Rand Paul might be a good VP strategically but he also has similar boldness and energy. BUT can such an independent mind be a Trump team player? That’s the rub.
But if he and Trump can get on the same page, there’s dynamism there. Iron sharpens iron ;)
Ivanka for Chief of Staff
Maybe YOU need to educate yourself about different presidential occupations too.

‘He claimed I disliked Trump because I liked Cruz. Then he further claimed he would prove this by digging through my past posts.’
Why are you lying? Both of those statements are patently false.
‘Then you go on to describe me as Cruz supporter which you will prove by digging into my previous posts.’
Surely you have a direct quote to back up this statement?
Oh that’s right; you can’t produce such a quote. It’s non-existent.
Thanks for taking the time to put so much information together into one very clear and extremely interesting post. You made one excellent point after another; it made for good reading.
Let me ask you a question. Namely, do you believe an adult who calls himself a conservative should be capable of seeing the difference between Carter and Trump for themselves? It’s not that I don’t appreciate your post—I do. I just wonder whether or not you believe the average adult conservative ought to be able to discern at least a few major, key differences between Carter and Trump on their own?
