EgyptAir flight MS804 from Paris to Cairo disappeared from radar early Thursday morning. Egyptian officials believe that the a mid-air explosion cause the plane to crash into the Mediterranean. Egypt's Sherif Ismail said that all possible causes of the explosion were being examined - including terrorism.

The scary thing is, there is really not a good way to keep this sort of thing from happening. I flew Delta from Paris to Minnesota this week. The people on the flight were about 75% American. It would be very easy for Isis to put an explosive on an American flight. We can ban them from here but unless we all stay home with our tails between our legs, we will always be in danger.

The plane had also flown from Asmara, Eritrea, where it had been overnight, to Cairo, and then from Cairo to Tunis, Tunisia. From there, it flew back to Cairo and then to Paris. Routine maintenance checks were performed on the plane before the final flight from Paris to Cairo, officials told CNN.
