LOL! Not really a resounding endorsement of sorts. But you're welcome for U.S. protecting your free speech, even if you're a Brit. You may want to have a talk with the new mare of London. He and Donald, not so much.

Welcome the ‘new immigrants’ to your country to your compound for a night out, Ms. Rowling.

His freedom to speak protects my freedom to call him a bigot, she added. His freedom guarantees mine.
Well, at least she understands the concept of free speech. So many on the left don't - or do, but would prefer to suppress it.

Too much of a PC hell over there even for the liberals!

Politically ignorant people like Rowling are subject to being duped by the media because they do not look beyond the headlines. They have no clue what Trump is really about. They have not read his books, or have not seen him at rallies. They have no idea he is the opposite of a bigot in his relations with people of all stripes. But they do make good tools for the media onslaught.

Backhanded compliment, but since she’s become wealthy in party by writing about the virtues of fighting oppression of thought and ideas, at least she’s not a complete hyprocrite.

Aww, the rest of the quote got cut off... ‘..and hauled off for hate speech, as only minorities and immigrants have the right to say anything in my country. The rest of us must beg permission or be arrested.’

Actually, very resounding.
She doesn’t like a thing he has to say but, supports his right to speak his mind.

The UK does not have a first amendment so if she praises Trump instead of calling him a bigot, she can be investigated for hate speech and lose her own platform to speak.

“Not really a resounding endorsement of sorts.”
But a damming criticism of the competition.
She’d vote for the jerk who lets her call him a jerk, not for the one she agrees more with but is inclined to incarcerate anyone who expresses disagreement.
A marvelous example of the importance of core principles.

Even for this particular weirded-out witch of a liberal writer who would be NOTHING if not for her editor(s).

If you seek the removal of freedom from an opponent simply because they have offended you, you have crossed the line to stand alongside tyrants who imprison, torture and kill with exactly the same justification.Politically Correct 'rules' are shadow laws ... written by useful idiots in ignorance - designed and imposed without consent of the governed.
J.K. Rowling does have a sense of what is evil... good for her.
