J.K. Rowling said she thinks Donald Trump guarantees her free speech.

“I find almost everything that Mr. Trump says objectionable,” Rowling said. “I consider him offensive and bigoted. But, he has my full support to come to my country and be offensive and bigoted there.”
“His freedom to speak protects my freedom to call him a bigot,” she added. “His freedom guarantees mine.”

Politically ignorant people like Rowling are subject to being duped by the media because they do not look beyond the headlines. They have no clue what Trump is really about. They have not read his books, or have not seen him at rallies. They have no idea he is the opposite of a bigot in his relations with people of all stripes. But they do make good tools for the media onslaught.
Backhanded compliment, but since she’s become wealthy in party by writing about the virtues of fighting oppression of thought and ideas, at least she’s not a complete hyprocrite.

The UK does not have a first amendment so if she praises Trump instead of calling him a bigot, she can be investigated for hate speech and lose her own platform to speak.
I wonder if Rowling is aware that Muslims will see this as an invitation?
