Democrat candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders each picked up primary wins on Tuesday in yet another demonstration of how divided the party is in the drawn-out national race to win the nomination for November's general election.
Clinton narrowly defeated Sanders in Kentucky, a state where she was not expected to win. Sanders bested her in Oregon, a state that played to his strengths.

Wow, a quarter of a million Democrats must of died off in the last 8 years. Lol.
I thought those numbers were pretty striking, too. KY is a closed primary state, so GOP and Indies did not skew either result. Surprised it hasn’t gotten more mention.
Ore-gone. ;-)
Wow, further evidence she can't even sell it to the home team.
Mr Newt let the cat out of the bag the other night on Hannity. He was mentioning if Trump goes forward with a platform that differentiates him from Kim Jong Shrill via a 10 point quasi Contract for America the victory would be 65% to 35% and that is the number he used.
He is no dummy and has been through these cycles and didn't even believe Lunz in 94' when he told him you are the next speaker, but I am sure he has learned or is listening to his gut feel.
I have been saying it for some time it will be a 60 - 40 race, and Newt confirmed it.
She is in such deep doo doo, I don't see how the DNC, Debbie Blabber Mouth Schultz etc extract her and parachute in someone because IMHO they don't want Bernie either. He is now their Ted Cruz, i.e. he won't shut up or go away, and they have no idea how too get him to exit.
Grab the popcorn, the real dysfunction will be on the D side of the ledger going forward, leading up to and after their convention...
“He is now their Ted Cruz, i.e. he won’t shut up or go away, and they have no idea how too get him to exit.”
20% or so of Bernie voters list Trump as their second choice. That means that the demonrats have a real problem. If they mollify the hard left Bernies they lose the blue collar suburbanites.
They are in a bit of a tight box.
a state where she was not expected to win."
Except there was never any polling which had Sanders winning Kentucky but there is polling showing Clinton winning by 5 points in March.
I mentioned that Rand would bring a lot to the table as a VP pick months ago; from a strategic perspective Rand would pull in both disgruntled Sanders voters and libertarian leaning independents, in numbers sufficient to win against Hillary. From a pragmatic perspective, he meets Trumps requirement of someone who knows the business rules for getting things done in DC. Trump is a smart, strategic thinker, would not surprise me at all if he picks Rand.
It is a Two-Fer with Newt as Chief of Staff to get things through the House and Rand to get them trough the Senate, talk about a win-win. IMHO Rand owns Mitch, without his support in KY last cycle it may have been Senator Bevin. His knowledge of Health care as an MD who still does surgery isn't to shabby either if you want to repeal & replace O-Care...
I agree. Rand Paul as Trumps VP would get the under 40 crowd to pull the R lever in record numbers. It would be a landslide win for Trump and America.
Thanks, see what Mr Newt thinks in Post #5. Rand could only solidify that “Yuge” of a Victory.
