London’s Cockney culture is being driven out of one of its last remaining bastions, Newham in East London, which has seen its white population halved in the last 15 years. The area now has the lowest white population in London leading to pubs and working men’s clubs are closing down and a loss of Christian traditions.
The borough of Newham lies just five miles east of the City of London, banking capital of the world, but locals say it now looks less like a British city, more like Baghdad.
The area was once characterised by its white working class population, mostly cockneys who moved in during the 1800s as dockworkers during an era of unprecedented global trade. But now ethnic minorities make up 76 percent of the borough’s population, making it the most multicultural place in Britain.
“People who haven’t been for many years come out of Upton Park Station and say: ‘I can’t believe what’s happened here, it could be Baghdad,’” says Peter Bell manager of the East Ham Working Men’s Club.

My town in NJ has seen the same phenomenon in terms of Hispanics replacing the Scots and Irish; gone are the watering holes with names like “Scotland Yard” and the “Ulster Club” (which is actually some kind of Hispanic Christian storefront church now). Instead we have small restaurants with no English on their signs or new bars to take the braceros’ untaxed dollars as they watch Mexican league soccer. The five fish & chips places of my youth have been reduced to one.
We still have a Scottish butcher (and I believe a Polish one).

As Trump’s popularity indicates, it is not the general populations that favor this trafficking of Third Worlders; it is the government worker caste which is simply seeking new clients to “administer” in the face of dying native populations. They want to keep housing, classrooms, and stores full, and they don’t care who they use to do it (or who they harm).
Trump’s popularity originated when he re-opened a discussion our overlords decided was settled (not in our favor): He publicly and repeatedly slammed the open border, and Americans responded.

We actually have a lot of Central and South Americans in my area instead of Mexicans, but the Mexican league games are on many more cable channels in the bars.

It has taken at least four generations for the French Canadians around here to lose both their French and their French accent. Virtually all the Irish are long gone off to the cemetery, the Irish parish is closed and the Irish bars are gone. The Greek cafes and tavernas were gone by the time I was in college and the Sons of Italy is now a “bible believing” Baptist church. The synagogue closed years ago. The latest wave of immigrants, virtually all Africans of both Christian and Mohammedan persuasion, are already assimilating and they’ve only been here less than 20 years. In fact the Catholics and Orthodox among them have given a boost to our local parishes. The protestant ones have given new life to some of the protestant parishes. Truth be told, these immigrants are keeping my town from turning into one big loaf of agnostic/atheistic Wonder Bread! The people are nice, they work very hard, much harder as a group than the local examples of the shallow end of the Founders’ gene pool, they add a splash of color (in more ways than one) and their food is great!
Our American culture is seductive in a way no other is, even the Canadian and Australian ones. Anyone who has traveled around this world knows how dominant American culture is just about everywhere. When people come here nowadays, virtually all want to assimilate at least to some degree. If they don’t, their kids do and will.
It’s not the same in Europe. I could move to, say, Germany and become a citizen. But I’d never be a German. A German, or an Ethiopian or a Syrian or a Laotian can move here, become a citizen, and they are Americans.
I don’t see much hope for Europe frankly. They just aren’t culturally set up for immigration. We are.
Immigration on this scale is invasion whether they assimilate or not. Would Japan still be Japan if the Japanese were replaced with Africans?
