If you have a newer model Subaru Legacy or Outback, stop right now.
The automaker is recalling more than 48,500 vehicles over a potential steering column defect so serious, they shouldn't even be driven to a mechanic.
...
"The steering column in your vehicle may not have been manufactured to specification," Subaru says in a customer service message online. "If this condition exists, turning the steering wheel may have no effect on the direction of the wheels, increasing the risk of a crash."

Why do feel China was involved in the part manufacture?
Also interested in where you find any small consumer products NOT made in China.

You bought a 1953, '54 or '55 Subaru?
Not a smart move to begin with.

Doesn't seem as bad as if you turned the steering wheel and the front wheels went in the opposite direction /s

You bought the Subaru 360 with the 25 HP Two Stroke Engine?
The Yamaha Dealer I used to go to sold those back in the mid 70’s. They even had a Van version.
The Subaru 360 took over 50 seconds to hit 50 MPH.
They should have called it the Subaru 5050.

"Official" according to who?
Form what I have seen, the Audi A4 and Scion Xb should vie for that title.

I was behind a Subaru a week or so ago and there was a bumper sticker that said - just because I’m driving a Subaru does not mean I’m a liberal

My(actually my Wife’s) 2013 Subaru Forester has a Lifetime NRA Sticker on it. I bought it for her because there in no more better in the snow car than a Subaru and she is an RN and HAS to make it to work each time EVERY TIME! We are EXTREMELY Conservative!

I have 239000 on my 95 Legacy Wagon. I got my wife a 2010 Forester. I used them to haul my guns until that tragic boating accident. They are great in the snow.
