McCain is a dumbass.
There is no better way to end this nonsense of women being equal to men than by making women equal to men.
- Megan
A Summary of the NDAA from McCain’s office defends the provision to include women in Selective Service as follows: “Because the Department of Defense has lifted the ban on women serving in ground combat units, the committee believes there is no further justification in limiting the duty to register under the Military Selective Service Act to men.” Thus, McCain believes that because a few liberal social groups and Obama’s politically appointed generals want to include women in combat on a voluntary basis, the Senate should therefore require all women to potentially register for the draft.”

I agree with almost nothing the RINO says but i do agree with this.
Any country that sends women to fight for it is no longer worth fighting for.
Have we gone mad as a society? “
For the most part, YES!
Well, my take may be a bit different. But to me, this is an issue of how far do we take women’s lib. If there is to be complete equality in every area of life, per the liberals/leftists, then of course females should be available for the draft, if we ever go back to the draft.
Hoist the liberals on their petard. There are some good valid reasons why the two sexes are treated differently in some areas of life. If they persist that there can be no differences, no “discrimination”, then logically, females need to be drafted too.
Kill the damn bill. No one stops them from joining except their own short comings.
If this helps de feet this old coot ,
Fine

McCain is so unpredictable, he is the Loki of the Republican Party.
I am with him on this one. No better way to kill the vestigial, useless Selective Service System. Its retirement is long overdue.
Any country that sends women to fight for it is no longer worth fighting for.

Neither is a country that would re-elect Obama.
I hate Juan, but this makes sense. If women are going to be on the front lines and in Special Forces, then they can be conscripts. Otherwise it’s a.double standard.
That said, women don’t belong in combat. Doing so is reckless and harmful for the sake of political grandstanding.
On a related topic, the terms on which the ERA was “suspended” are interesting and somewhat debatable.
There is a danger that if they get enough control the Dems will bring it back and “deem” it passed with just a couple more states.
I wouldn’t mind drafting them into completely noncombat (think, stateside administrative) positions in time of war.
But in our current environment, this is crazy.
The Democrats want this and McCain’s purpose is to give the Democrats what they want while taking the political hit on the Democrats’ behalf. McCain and Graham have always seen that as their main function.
couldn’t agree more.
The answer to Egalitarian/Collectivism is found in the biological & psychological realities of life. Humoring it to demonstrate its absurdity is itself absurd. The answer is to end the era in which “politically correct” bullies can silence all discussion of those biological & psychological realites.
The Democrats want this because it will achieve their objective of turning us into a pacifist nation.
The Left has been lamenting the fact that they haven’t been able to get a really good antiwar movement going since we went to an all-volunteer military.
Their thinking is that if their daughters are likely to be drafted, all of the parents will take to the streets and protest the next time some Republican wants to start an “illegal war”.
McCain is playing right into their hands.
Only question is whether it’s due to treachery or senility.
