Back in the 70s, I was a waitress at the NY Hilton - I brought in that cash during the week! I’m shocked restaurants would fall for this. Absolutely shocked. And it’s not like waiters and other professionals didn’t warn them.

I see a Nate’s with locations in Addison, Frisco and McKinney; nothing in Richardson. Never ate there.

Going to a restaurant where the gratuity is automatically added in is a guarantee of poor service.

Yep, Circuit City ... remember when they had their own video format they were pushing ... Divx or something like that.
I think tipping makes more sense when thought of in terms of a sales commission. Something I picked up from my daily Mises Institute email a while back.
To: PAR35
One would think that tipping with someone else’s money would be a natural. The at the table classes titled ‘buying preprepared food / schooling for recipients of the you deserve it class’ evidently left out a section on tipping and now restaurant prices are skyrocketing. Talk to your waiter waitress friends. PS on the qt of course don’t want to profile #;^(

Ate there a few times back in the 90’s at the I guess the original, he visited every table. Cajun to the bone. Very nice place and not like Razzoo’s or Joe’s.

$14/hr workers will pay more tax than $9/hr workers...
and they risk losing their "Earned" income credit, food stamps, college money etc...

most of their tips are untaxed....a little money untaxed is a greater benefit than a couple of dollars more an hr.

the big laugh to me is that if the leftist insist on this huge minimum wage, the prices of things are going up, and we personally will be unable to keep tipping like we do, which is nearly just about 20%....
these goofs are going to loose their big tipping payday....and I hope it happens....

The WORST place that I have ever had the bad luck of dining ........ garbage, nasty, service was horrible. I had better seafood from a long john silvers drive up that hadn’t changed their deep fryer oil in a month with a side of free rat meat than Joes Crab Crap....... They closed down in less than a year here. The only thing laundered in that chain is money through tax system due profit losses ..... my opinion / one time experience with joes crab crap shack.

The last time I was a Joes, I didnt leave any tip, but it wasnt because of their policy. Hope it was something the waitress had direct control over - I've had a lousy meal and tipped the waitress well even though the "chef" couldn't do anything right.

Wrong.
The goobermint has reasoned that you make a percentage of the restaurant's receipts and it is reported accordingly. Tips have not been 'under the table' income in decades.
