Oh, bye the way, potatoe is a valid spelling in classic literature.

Maybe Dan Quayle was familiar with older BOOKS - as in he is actually an educated person.

It was also spelled with an E on the card he was given.

Umm, is there an old spelling of "Quayle" or "their" which makes this correct?

Those of us in Indiana at the time were taught either or. But we didn’t have Al Gores Internet to prove we were correct
