It is disqualifying for a modern-day presidential nominee to refuse to release tax returns to the voters, especially one who has not been subject to public scrutiny in either military or public service. Tax returns provide the public with its sole confirmation of the veracity of a candidate's representations regarding charities, priorities, wealth, tax conformance, and conflicts of interest. Further, while not a likely circumstance, the potential for hidden inappropriate associations with foreign entities, criminal organizations, or other unsavory groups is simply too great a risk to ignore for someone who is seeking to become commander-in-chief.
Mr. Trump says he is being audited. So? There is nothing that prevents releasing tax returns that are being audited. Further, he could release returns for the years immediately prior to the years under audit. There is only one logical explanation for Mr. Trump's refusal to release his returns: there is a bombshell in them. Given Mr. Trump's equanimity with other flaws in his history, we can only assume it's a bombshell of unusual size.
(Anticipating inquiries regarding my own tax release history, I released my 2010 tax returns in January of 2012 and I released my 2011 tax returns as soon as they were completed, in September of 2012.)
These might be interesting but I was banned after a year or so, pending submission of a government issues photo ID; and they won't let me look.
F'em.

Romney lost to Barack Obama only because of record turn out by non-white minority voters.
If Romney had run the exact same campaign in 2004, he would have beat John Kerry.
Please remember that Donald Trump must get about 64% of the white vote in 2016 to win the election.
The all time American record is 66%, by Ronald Reagan, in his 1984 landslide reelection.
In 1984, 91% of Black voters, and 66% of Hispanic voters voted against Ronald Reagan.
And anyone who thinks Trump actually look at more than two or three of those 1000 pages is an idiot. My returns might run to 40 pages and I rarely look at more than where my accountant says I MUST sign.

I do not now, nor will I ever have a Facebook page. Is there a way to link to/post the comments to Romney’s rant?
He has something like 350 registered companies either owner or partner registered in Delaware....and another 350 companies overseas.
"There is only one logical explanation for Mr. Obama's refusal to release his records, birth certificate, etc.: there is a bombshell in them."
So why didn't Romney say the same thing to then candidate Obama? There are only a couple of "logical explanations" and none of them put Romney is a good light.
Willard needs a job, or hobby. He’s got way too much time on his hands.
Hey Mittens. Let’s see your tax returns. Full disclosure - all of them, all the ones you’ve ever filed.
Without an accusation of illegality, no one should have to submit to any demand of personal information.
See what a Harvard Law School degree will do to a person?
where are Obama’s immigration papers?
where are Hillary’s missing emails?
He doesn’t have to hand them over and he shouldn’t... to hell with Romney.

As Trump has been audited year after year by the IRS, just what Big Bombshell do you think Trump has hidden, Mr. Romney. The IRS would have discovered any big bombshells in each of the many years Trump has been audited, if any existed, and they havent, as none do. Romney is barking up a nonexistent tree. Watch it, Mr. Romney, Trump has a long memory.
Is that you, Willard?
My question to Mitt- how do you know there is a bombshell in the returns- have you been peeking?
He might not want other developers, businesses and city executives to be able to guess where he plans to acquire land and other business by examining things he has already begun to spend money on. Business competition is a bit different from campaign competition. If he does NOT become President, this might be an especially important consideration.
