U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, plans to run for re-election in 2018.
Cruz, who ended his presidential campaign last week, said "yes" when asked Wednesday morning by a reporter in Washington, D.C., if he would seek a second term, according to CNN and The Hill. Cruz's office later confirmed the exchange.
The announcement adds some clarity to Cruz's political future following his decision to exit the presidential race on May 3. While Cruz could change his mind, running for re-election in 2018 puts to rest some speculation he would sit out a second term to prepare for a comeback bid for the White House in 2020.
Cruz was first elected to the Senate in 2012, when he upset then-Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst in the Republican primary to replace Kay Bailey Hutchison.
No I don’t, what I remember is he filled to re-organize which is not what you are selling, go earn your money somewhere else........
What ever, wasn’t AL Gore your Senator?
Winter Haven, FL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You must be kidding my hubby grew up there, Glen Arden Dr. you cant afford to live there on a military wage, try another name.....
Yes he filed Chapter 11. But the bond holders, the people that loaned the money to Trump LOST MONEY. So no, he was not good for the loan.
More specifically, the company Dixie-Narco has a claim during that bankruptcy of $6 Million and was finally forced to settle for as little as $2.4 Million. So no, he was not good for the loan.
Also, He agreed to pay the bond lenders 14 percent interest, roughly 50 percent more than he had projected, to raise $675 million. In order to try and work with Trump on restructuring rather than liquidating, the bond holders agreed to settle for a 10% interest rate. So no, he was not good for the loan.
While the bond was eventually repaid, the lower payment of 10% means that Trump was not good for 4% of that loan. To get into the actual numbers for each of his four bankruptcies, go to: http://dividendreference.com/articles/2015/1000637/donald-trump-bankruptcies/
so what.......
this is key right here.....While the bond was eventually repaid...
Now are you voting for hellary??????
I grew up in and around Winter Haven. At least I graduated from WH High (class of ‘82) and that is the biggest / nearest town to where I lived. I actually lived outside Eagle Lake. One more street over and I would have been in the Bartow school district.
Is for the military, I let Winter Haven when I joined up. Never went back and currently live in Colorado.
My guess would be yes.
read your own post Trump did not even have to do this....now move on to your next screen name I am on to you on this one and will pass on.......
The ORIGINAL bond was not repaid. The RESTRUCTURED bond was, so again he was not good for the loan. Only part of it.
mine too and they think we are to stupid to know....
Don’t get me wrong, I believe Trump is the only man on this planet who can save this country. My only complaint with him so far is that it appears he is softening on some of his positions.
I wasn’t living in Tn when Gore was a Senator.
Tennessee rejected home boy Gore when he ran for President though.
Trump has put together more than a hundred deals in his life.
Four went bust.
That means he has a 96% success rate.
Better than anything our government has done recently.
As far as I know Ted Cruz has not been successful in over 80% of his legal cases. Virtually no legislation has actually been passed with his name on it as far as I can determine he’s written or succeeded or passed nothing.
The last two months he didn’t even bother showing up for work and didn’t vote.
“I am a Conservative. I vote FOR conservatives and conservative issues. I have work hard within the GOP to elect conservatives in every position starting at the local precinct level, state level, and even the national level.”
Good points and you have my respect...but that does not mean Cruz is without some issues that other equally serious conservatives might see and object to.
Just as it is very legitimate for a conservative to have issues with Trump.
But in the end our choice is going to be Trump or Hillary/Sanders. Folks want Trump to win, warts and all.
Well, in reality that IS what you are doing is helping the other side because you can’t get over the fact that Cruz lost and you think he still has conservative principles.
What I’ve been trying to tell you all along is the vetting process here at Free Republic is Cruz is not or at the very least he was pretending to be a conservative. He had some of you fooled. That’s not on us.
Your main “folly” is still thinking Cruz is a conservative. He is conservative IN NAME ONLY from what he proved in his run in this primary. You can support fake conservatives all you want. At least here at FR, the conservatives figured the guy out. But you admitted, you don’t trust Free Republic. So I ask again, why are you here if you don’t trust the conservatives here? The only logical answer is to start trouble and help the other side.
