I agree with that. That would be Newt’s best fit. He does very well with the press and would do an excellent job on the Sunday talk show circuit. He would also teach Ryan a thing or two on passing legislation.
Mainly do to his age I think he is to old for the VP slot. We need to look to the future and someone who can take the reins from Trump when that time comes.

Yes- the added dimension of irony- in Fitzgerald’s unseating, giving us the SOB from Indonesia, and then to have him as Trump’s VP, would be most satisfying.
I worked on his campaign as a volunteer and paid staff, but not before vetting him myself, as best I could, in January of 1998. I went all in for Fitzgerald, once I determined that he was a man beyond reproach. He did not let the people of Illinois down. That is saying something, considering how sorry the state of politics is in Illinois. Back to back governors imprisoned at the same time, from each party no less!!! GRRR!
