Why wouldn’t Iran threaten us?
It has backed us down over and over.
Clear back in the 2000s, they were training and sending in terrorists to Iraq. They continued to send weapons for Hezbollah through Iraq into Syria then Lebanon.
Obama has been even worse than Bush.
Iran would be crazy not to take advantage.

Iranian attempts to seal the Hormuz Straits against the US Navy would result in the destruction of their entire Navy and most of their Air Force in a fairly short period.
