On Mother's Day, President Obama wants to talk to you about the "diaper gap."
In a post on Medium for the holiday, Mr. Obama explained that many low-income families struggle to afford diapers for their young children, a trend that can lead to health and well-being issues for not only the children but for the mothers.
"I can't imagine what it would have been like to be a parent that has to choose between diapers and other basic expenses," he wrote. "Access to clean diapers isn't just important for a child's health and safety. Research has shown that mothers who are unable to afford diapers for their babies are more likely to suffer from maternal depression and mental health issues."

Why does every damned holiday have to be a mournful time where we piss and moan about how we fall short? cant anyone just say happy mothers day and give some upbeat message? Same for fathers day, he starts in with dads needing to act right.
He has a damn screw loose, I think cause his mom dumped him.
Don’t forget this is a problem for gay, transgendered and women.
Having a baby and can’t afford to buy diapers?
Diapers are now a “constitutional right”? Holy carp!
My first washing machine in our apartment was bought thru a neighbor who worked servicing laundromats so had access to used ones. It cost $25.00 and had to be started by putting a quarter in the coin slot.
It was so comical as I think back ‘cause the tub was off kilter so the machine would walk across the kitchen when on Spin which disconnected the hose from the kitchen sink that it emptied into. Though I tried to catch each week I finally just figured diaper wash day was also kitchen floor mop day.
Thanks for listening to my Mother’s Day Story — I still chuckle when I think of that machine but I was so grateful for it as we didn’t have enough money to ever buy diapers, which btw were not for sale way back then as I remember.
"Mr. President, we must not allow a diaper gap!"
Why on earth should taxpayers pick up the tab?
LoL Says it all... (well almost all)
Before FDR...everyone died as babies.
No Health Insurance. No free Cell Phones. No School Breakfasts. No free diaper services. How did people live without slaves?
LOL! Guess we were thinkin along the same lines looks like.
I too remember my parents doing so many jobs (now done electronically or by someone else) still while working their fingers to the bone at real jobs. Remember trimming hedges by hand, trimming the grass under the chain link fence (and we had a big back yard), putting clothes out to dry (even in winter)?
And yet Obama wants to politicize diapers in 2016.
Isn’t that what SNAP and ADC, TANF, WIC, SSI, etc. are for?
Or is that money earmarked for the casinos?
Because they are popping out more babies than whites, and need more money from whitey so whitey won’t be able to afford babies.
If it has anything to do with crap this guy is an expert.
The Diaperhead In Chief gives a diaper sermon. FUBO!
From the folks that brought you Obamacare and the Obamaphone, now comes the Obamadiaper. A change you can believe in!
Now he wants us to buy their diapers for them too.
Charge it to Obamacare, tell them it’s a “pre existing condition”.
BEFOR DISPOSABLE Diapers my parents were born. Those still hadn’t com along yet when my brother & I were born. They were 1st available when my eldest daughter was born but they were expensive and rationed. They were still expensive & rationed when my youngest daughter was born, A true Family manages.
They are healthy Adult women with daughters of their own now.
Be Quiet Pres. O’Bozo!
Our constitution won’t allow the government to put a limit on the number of children a family can have. But it would be legal to say “You’ve had two kids out of wedlock. The government will pay to have your tubes tied or a vasectomy but the government will not pay a dime for a third child.”
