As Donald Trump emerged victorious in the race for the Republican presidential nomination this week, the loudest cries of anguish heard in Washington may well have come from one section of his own partyfrom those in its conservative movement.
Conservatives had their party hijacked from them in the 2016 primaries, wrote Jonathan S. Tobin in Commentary, a leading platform for conservatives. He added: The consequences for individual liberty and restraint of government power, not to mention Americas foreign-policy interests, will be incalculable.
Meanwhile, Leon H. Wolf, writing on the conservative site Redstate.com, proposed what many conservatives would consider a radical action, declared that Republicans must know that there is absolutely no chance that we will win the White House and are likely to lose control of the Senate as well. As a result, he urged Republicans in the Senate to move promptly to confirm Merrick Garland, President Barack Obamas nominee to the Supreme Court, on the theory that more liberal nominees would follow if he isnt approved now.

And those "conservatives" who want to have a third party nominee -- ensuring a Hillary win.
LOL!
I have heard this proposed elsewhere.
Its idiotic.
On the Supreme Court a vote is a vote and its all purely partisan.
One Democrat appointment will vote like any other. The language in the concurrence will be different but big whoop.
Experts at losing elections. Hiel Hitlery!
ZOT.
Trumps Ascent Has Conservatives Wary
I don’t know ANY conservatives, other then the false “go along to get along” types, who can refrain from grinning widely every time Trump opens his mouth. And calls a spade a spade...
not one.
Most of them can barely suppress a snicker when the cameras are on them, and Donald says what we were all thinking...
so Jim gave EE the remotely activated ZOT... nice.
[snip] It doesnt matter whether Speaker Ryan approves of candidate Trump or not, noted Nehlen. It doesnt matter whether any congressional leader approves of him. It matters even less if RNC leadership approves of himincluding Paul Ryan. The fact is, the American people have spoken in state after state after state. Theyve made their choice. It is petulant, arrogant, disrespectfuland in many senses dangerousto our representative system of government to tell people across this nation who took the time to cast a vote, Sorry, Im not cool with your choice. It is for the people to decide who they want to lead, not for one man or a cabal of party elites. [/snip]
Paul Nehlen: Paul Ryans Elitism is Showing, His Disdain and Disrespect for the American Electorate Is Breathtaking

Actually, last time I checked, I did not know that.
Let me check again.
Nope. I still don't know that.
What does seem clear to me is that too many Republicans are continuing to vent too much anger against other Republicans.
Trump won. The establishment lost, big time. Stop trying to re-win the battle that Trump already won.
Focus on beating Hillary.
Conservative is no longer the definition most folks associate with it.
It is just a call to tow the GOP line.
Don’t like the GOP, well then your not a conservative.
Ask George Will.
I flipped off the Five today (I hadn’t watch them in awhile since GG and DP were having fits a few weeks ago), to see GG’’s monologue going after Trump for not being a conservative.
Guess what, I don’t like the word conservative any more, because it means get your orders and march in step.
Turned them off, and won’t watch any show for awhile with Will, Krauthammer, or GG.
First the homos hijacked the word gay, now the GOP has hijacked the word conservative.
But I still got Lou Dobbs!
These guys are in for a rude awakening.
What idiots...
Vote Trump!
The conservatives are, as usual, playing the part of pawns. Tools. It is the liberal wing of the GOP that is behind the anti-Trump antics.
[Like the Tutone] ...yo...
