Donald Trump’s coronation as the GOP nominee will present plenty of opportunities for Republican amnesia and short-sightedness. The easiest thing to do, if you’re a conservative Republican, is to dismiss Trump as an aberration, as if his candidacy emerged out of a whirlwind. But that’s the work of revisionist historians, not honest observers of the last decade of Republican politics.
Consider this recent tweet by Meghan McCain, the daughter of John McCain and now a commentator for Fox News:

The myopia here is staggering. Although she didn’t respond, I asked Meghan if she remembers an obscure, half-forgotten figure named Sarah Palin? I asked because, in so many ways, there is no Trump without Palin. Palin was Trump before Trump. The rambling incoherence, the vacuousness, the reality TV theatrics, the ghastly marriage of ignorance and confidence – Palin brought this to national politics long before Trump did.

I think there is a correlation between the establishment types like john McCain, Romney and Lindsey grahams betrayal of Sara Palin and the disdain for Trump it is the same group of people that decided to use Sara Palin and then when there candidate John McCain did not get the presidency they viciously attacked her out of fear of what she represented. when I look at what happen after the 20008 election I see that as my wake up that the republican party was in the control of people that did not have my interests at heart. I want to see any establishment republican drummed out of politics who does not support the nomination.
Ya know, put that way, I quite like it.
Let's not, how this McCain broad made it onto Fox is beyond me.
Why don't they start referring to her as the "Maverick Meghan McCain" like they did to her old man for eight years until he was shot down again in November of 2008, never again to be referred to as the "Maverick John McCain"........
