A pro-Donald Trump tow truck driver refused to a help a disabled customer stranded on Interstate 26 in Asheville, North Carolina on Monday because she supports Bernie Sanders.

"Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said, 'Get in the truck and leave,'" said Ken Shupe of Shupee Max Towing in Traveler's Rest, South Carolina. "And when I got in my truck, you know, I was so proud, because I felt like I finally drew a line in the sand and stood up for what I believed."

I can judge perfectly here because it is a categorical bible statement. You cannot escape the situation of being judged by the same standard you judge.

Thanks for your theological opinion. And try re-reading this thread fully before judging me again.

The meaning of parables are hidden from those who have rejected the Holy Spirit. (That’s pretty much a direct quote from Jesus.)

If you can’t see how the parable of the Good Samaritan applies here, you’ve got bigger problems than politics.

Roosevelt was elected because he promised to keep us out of the war. When reelected, he barred any information on the planned entry of America into the European Theater of Operations being passed to the State Department. In November of ‘42, Operation Torch, we landed in North Africa to the complete surprise of the State Department. Roosevelt claimed “The place was like a sieve.” (speaking of the state Dept.)
Another time, he went on a fishing trip on his yacht. A double for Roosevelt had a nice fishing trip while Roosevelt was in Nova Scotia talking to Churchill on the Augusta. The Augusta was Patton’s lead ship of Task Force 34 which landed at Casablanca.
Washington was as full of in fighting then as it is now.
Ian Fleming, author of James Bond novels was a spy in Washington for a time attached to the British Embassy. He was spying on America, of course.
Truman knew nothing about the Atomic Bomb and its development during the war. He was Vice President, replacing the commie sympathizer who had been Roosevelt’s V.P. previously. He found out about the bomb when Roosevelt died, making him president. He used it about four months later.
Washington was warned about the possibility of Pearl Harbor being bombed. The bureaucracy, however, and infighting among the services prevented the warning from being understood until it was too late.
Yeah, things were pretty awful back then. Nothing new in politics.
As far as Ethnic groups were concerned. There was a lot less hostility than there is now between whites and blacks. We were of course hostile to Japanese and Germans, but pro Chinese at the time.
Johnson was a very bad thing for this country. Politics took over and Vietnam was the result. We won the battles but politics gave away the war. THAT is a VERY sore subject with me. I am determined to live long enough to piss on Fonda’s grave...and Kerry’s too.

This is liberal behavior. He should have towed the car.

I guess then the couple in CO "should have baked the cake" and the florist in WA "should have made the floral arrangements" according to many here. What happened to the conservative attitude that we should be able to choose our customers?

As it says in the article:

“She is legally disabled and says the handicapped placard was hanging on her mirror when Shupe arrived. She also says the family mechanic had informed Shupe that she was disabled.”

No, I don't think they should have baked a cake etc. i think those are two different things.

If you have a bakery or a flower shop, you can choose not to serve that customer. Then they can go to the next bakery or florist. No problem.

But if it's roadside assistance, I don't think it's the same.

Should the power company have the right to shut down power to people if they are pro-life?

In 1932, before Hitler even came to power?

Owning a tow-truck for hire in NC is a morally- or legally-mandated service which is ruled the same as the electricity providers? You sure?

Truman knew nothing about the Atomic Bomb and its development during the war

Stalin knew about the atomic bomb before Truman. Anna Roosevelt knew much more about the war than Truman.

He found out about the bomb when Roosevelt died, making him president.

No, he didn't. Roosvelt died on April 12th. Truman was first informed about the Manhattan Project on April 24th, almost two weeks later.

Truman first mentioned the bomb to Stalin on July 24th, but he didn't realize Stalin had know for a long time.

I am not saying it is the same as a utility, but to a lesser degree, I think there is a responsibility.

Would you like to be trapped somewhere because someone wouldn't stop because of your political beliefs?

Dumb move. He had an opportunity to extract some cash from a socialist and he passed on it.

I don't think he was morally or legally required in North Carolina to do more than he did. So we do not agree.

He trapped her there with her broken down vehicle...? Okay.

But my likes or dislikes should not matter to you as yours do not to me.

Yes, dumb move, if he loved making some more money over any other ideal.

It was still a dumb move. As a Trump supporter he had the chance to "evangelize" to a wayward Sanders supporter and win her over and he didn't. Instead, he demonstrated to her that Trump supporters are big assholes.

Andy, His Word is a two-edged Sword. TWO-edged.

A double edged sword is mentioned in Psalms 149, Proverbs 5, Hebrews 4, and Revelation 1. In all the cases it seems to be about how sharp God's vision is into separating good from evil in our hearts, and the hopelessness of deceiving Him in this regard even if we have deceived ourselves.

I don't find anything related that would make me think this gives us license to ignore the command of Jesus to treat all men as our neighbors.

But I find much related to encouraging us to help others in need. Copious amounts. Even commands to love even our enemies and to be kind to them.

It was wrong not to help. It was not illegal but that does not make it right.

That's not defeatist, it's American.

We have this thing called Freedom of Speech. Citizens should be able to express their opinions without fear of losing their livelihoods.

You can try and play the tit-for-tat game but it's going to always work in the leftists' favor.

Now in this "free" country of ours if I express myself too clearly with regard to my political views there is a good chance that I will be deemed "a bad example of a company employee" and fired.

It's OK if my company fires me because I am a bad employee or there is no more work for me to do. But they shouldn't be able to fire me because I disagree (but still go along) with their stupid Diversity programs.

Yes, I know. I can quit and go work for myself. But then if I post my opinions on Facebook my company can be boycotted into oblivion.

Trust me when I say conservatives will lose in an un-American battle of boycotts against those that disagree with us politically.

We will be boycotted not only by the leftists, but also by the middle-of-the-roaders who just want to be left alone so they don't have to deal with the controversy.
