After Donald Trump secured the Republican nomination on Tuesday night, the BBC rounded up the reactions from the global press to Trump's victory. Aside from some gloating in authoritarian Russia and China, the reaction was pretty shocked.
"The craziest US presidential election campaign begins," Germany's Die Welt daily wrote. "The unthinkable has come to pass."

We have an Eastern European friend the wife met on facebook. She wanted to hunt and fish, as it is forbidden in her country. She has visited us two years in a row to do these things. Last night she messages the wife and says she is worried we are electing the next hitler. Had to set her straight. Told her that is what the media et al want everyone to believe. She also buys into man made global warming.

My Mom is from the Old Country and was frightened by the Muslim invasion, but not enough to get over her fright of Donald Trump.
But I’m doing a little happy dance, because after rejecting Jeb!, loving Carson (doctor fetish) and then “supporting” Cruz, she just informed me minutes ago she cast her mail-in ballot for Trump. One more for the Gipper :)
P.S. : Regarding her “support” for Cruz, she lives in a Very Secure high end assisted retirement home that requires you identify yourself to a switchboard operator before they connect you to a resident’s apartment...and apparently someone in the Cruz campaign identified themselves as my brother in order to ring her up and put the bite on her. Thankfully she only gave them $50. In exchange they sent her a copy of Cruz’ book, “A Time for Truth”.
