Carson Floats Cruz As Attorney General To Go After Clinton
Politico ^ | May 4, 2016 | By Brianna Gurciullo

Ben Carson has a plan for Ted Cruz now that the Texas senator has dropped out of the GOP presidential race: attorney general, then Supreme Court justice under a Trump administration.

When Fox News Radio’s John Gibson asked Carson on Wednesday whether it would be “smart” for presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump to offer Cruz a position on the Supreme Court, he said yes.

“I think he would be terrific on the Supreme Court, or I think he would be a terrific attorney general. Or he could be both,” Carson said. “He could be attorney general first, you know, go ahead and prosecute Hillary, and then go on the Supreme Court.”......

If Trump loses, it will likely mean that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will have become President. In addition to cabinet officers, sitting and former Vice-Presidents are frequently elected President. The most recent examples include Richard Nixon and Hubert Humphrey, with Lyndon Johnson succeeding after Kennedy’s assassination and then being elected President in his own right.

"I’m sorry, I will openly encourage Cruz supporters to join us to defeat the HILDERBEAST.... If we are going to make this Country the best we can under Trump, then total honesty has to be one of the top rungs of the ladder....

I believe Donald Trump has absolutely NO love or allegiance for the Constitution or our nation in any way, shape or form....

I believe he is a man of the world, a "GLOBELEST" to the bone and thinks politics, business and peoples lives are just games to be played....

I believe He is nothing more then a Hollywood leftist and there will come a time we, including you all you trumpest, will curse the ground that Donald Trump stands on....

Remember what your Grandma said.... Show me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are.....

I really hope I'm wrong....but it's MHO...

I must have missed the Humphrey administration in history class. When was that?

Nixon was not a sitting vice-president when he was elected. The last sitting vice-president to be elected president prior to Bush senior was Martin Van Buren. There hasn't been a cabinet official later be elected president since Herbert Hoover. To claim that former cabinet officers and sitting vice presidents are frequently elected president is just plain false. Cruz knows that.

Obviously, Humphrey was not elected President, but he ran for the office as a sitting VP and came close to winning in 1968 — as did Al Gore in 2000 in an even closer election.

Cruz was building a façade during his short time in the Senate.

And if Cruz was interested in almost being elected president then the vice-presidency in a Trump administration would be perfect for him. But I think his sights are set a bit higher than that.

Bull corn!
Cruz has written, co-written or sponsored at least 25 bills.
Do you really believe he didn’t vote for any of them?
If you keep alienating Cruz voters, Hillary will be your president.

“I don’t kowtow to those threats.”

Trump is not inevitable. He needs all the support he can get. Trump realizes this, even if you do not.

“We aren’t here to coddle snowflakes.”

Yet you are the one saying I bring out “Threats”.

Just who is the snowflake here?

The problem with Cruz' campaign is that he ran like a sleazy lawyer willing to do anything for his client (himself) to win.

However, I have no doubt that his professed opinions on the Constitution are sincere, and I would love to see someone as clever as he is dedicated to restoring as much of the Constitution as he could sitting on the SCOTUS.

I think Cruz could have a much greater and more beneficial impact as a justice than as a Senator or any other position in government.

Yes, actually Christie and Cruz have shown themselves to put their political future ahead of constitutional principle and the good of America. I don’t really don’t trust either one.

What I really hope is that Trump does what Reagan did - bring in guys from outside of government - sharp, principled businessmen and maybe a principled, constitution-loving lawyer from private practice - and run the government like a business, cutting cost & waste, but with one exception: don’t expand but CUT the SIZE OF the $4 TRILLION GOVERNMENT to about 20% of its current size.

You want a constitutional conservative for AG, but then reject Cruz (Aka, Mr constitutional conservative) and want Christie, the most liberal RINO out there. That makes no sense.
