The key to unifying the GOP will be to persuade conservatives that he really is conservative. But you’d think that if he had it in him he’d already have done that.

Perfectly stated.

I will hold my nose and vote for Trump and I will pray we (GOP conservatives) have not been fooled again.

Read his two policy books and his position papers. Perhaps you will come away thinking differently than you do now

Trump was already doing that. For example, Trump and Cruz went head to head in Indiana, and Trump got more conservatives. Some of the GOP does not want a conservative so you will not unify them with conservatism. Others know Trump is a conservative but were playing politics in the primary claiming Trump is a liberal like Hillary. Now that the primary is over they will come around. Trump will unify most of the GOP.

You would think that, wouldn’t you?

Oh, yeah...the "conservatives" that were swept into a majority in both Houses in the last election have certainly been such a wonderful boon for conservatism.

NOT!!!!!!!

No. The key is in convincing those 1989 conservatives that it isn’t 1989 anymore. But if they were capable of living in the present, they’d have already done that.

Well I think he’s shown:
Love of Country
Love of Family
Love of our Military
Understanding that with no Borders no Country.
Understanding that Free Trade is not US getting screwed in Trade
Wanting to lower taxes for the middle class
Bringing back US companies to the US
It’s a damn good start!

Of course, some of us don’t care if the GOP is unified. I’d just as soon it due and make room for an American party, and, no, it’s not Trump’s job to woo Cruzers. They lost big. It’s their job to prove why they are important to beating Cankles, since they obviously couldn’t beat Trump.

News Flash - many Conservatives already support Trump and have supported him for months!! Wake up and smell the support for Trump from millions who are just as intelligent or more so than the ones acting so pious.

I challenge any conservative to read Trump’s published position papers and tell me that they don’t represent a hold conservative agenda for restoring our ailing country.

He has. Most of them. I’m as conservative as they come and Trump convinced me a long time ago. He doesn’t say “I’m a conservative”, but instead he espouses positions that are conservative. My experience with Republicans over at least the last decade is if they say “I’m conservative”, most likely they are not and are simply lying.

Everyone seems to have a hard time describing conservatism...Apparently this is it:

But none of these disasters shook conservative leaders from the optimistic haze in which they had lived since the Berlin Wall fell. They continued to insist that our basic policies of free trade, open borders, social liberalism, and near-permanent war were working fine.

If that's conservatism Trump ain't going...Neither am I...Neither are the millions of apparent non conservatives who voted for Trump...

I'm sure it's not over...They sent 15 minions out across the country to take Trump out of the picture...Trump crushed them all...Now Trump is going to bring the battle home...

Trump is not going to join their side...They are the ones who are going to have to change, or get out...

Just catching up here tonight and your comment jumped out.
You really haven’t been paying attention have you?

It’s not about how conservative he is, it’s about getting the freakin job done, now! Cruz couldn’t convince conservatives in the last 7 states voting, that he could do the job!

SMH
