“The key to unifying the GOP will be to persuade conservatives that he really is conservative. But you’d think that if he had it in him he’d already have done that.”

I challenge any conservative to read Trump’s published position papers and tell me that they don’t represent a hold conservative agenda for restoring our ailing country.

That's not the Daily Mail and that's also been debunked as it doesn't indicate what they and you think it does.

I'm going to be so crushed if Trump doesn't win, and build that wall, that is the main thing we have to do or nothing else matters.

I hope he builds that wall. I also want him to kick illegal Mexican butts back to Mexico, but that may be hoping for too much. A wall is a start. Our countrymen have spoken and the GOP is still deaf.

Jim Robinson also says Trump sounds pretty damn conservative to him, too.

“It’s their job to prove why they are important to beating Cankles, since they obviously couldn’t beat Trump.”

The proof of that or lack thereof will come on Election Day. If Trump wants to beat Hillary he is going to need a better strategy than that. You can be sure that as we speak Hillary is busy trying to figure out how to get them in her column.

Take the self-pitying attitude somewhere else.

Most Cruz supporters are now on board the Trump train.

No one knew Ike’s political party until he ran as a Republican.

Yea, no one is going to remember who Cruz was in a few months.

Get over yourselves.

The better candidate won.

We weren't mad at Cruz for running, but for the way he ran, plotting to steal the nomination at the Convention, not actually winning it with votes and you smug Cruz supporters defending it by throwing a rule book around.

“If he loses, it’s not “Cruz voters” fault.”

Everybody needs to take ownership of the coming election. It’s up to the Erick Erickson and Ted Cruz supporters to step up to the plate and do the right thing. The future of our country is at stake and we can’t save her unless we stand together.

This is not a time for political grandstanding or weak kneed statements to calm hurt feelings. There is no middle ground here at all; it’s get the job done to beat Clinton. Any Republican who sits this out or votes for Clinton had better be able to dismiss the issues facing the American worker with a clear conscious. Personally I don’t see how it can be done.

The DemonRats spend decades slowly, incrementally advancing their goals. They do not insist on perfection from their candidates, only that their agenda is advanced in some way.

The conservative base however, has the habit of insisting on absolute perfection.

Trump is not perfect, but if he halts the slide and advances the conservative agenda in some small way then he is the better alternative. Every day that we survive, every day that we advance in some way is a day that we are winning.

I will take spending the next 20 years in fundamentally restoring America, one small step at a time, over giving up. A good example is the fact that gun carry rights have been incrementally advanced over the last 20 years. State by State, ordnance by ordnance. More States are open carry states now than there were 20 years ago. Not perfect - but we are winning that fight. And we did not make those gains by insisting on perfection.

Yep they support open borders and illegals flooding in for cheap labor as fast as they can. Add in some of the NeverTrump Cruz supporters that now say they will vote for Hillary.

It would have been wise for the GOPe to listen to what had been told to them time, and time, and time again by regular people.

Some politicians are smart just like some people you work with at your job are smart. Not all of them are though. That’s not the characteristic that flows through all of them.

All politicians, however, are master manipulators. Think about those people at work you consider the “politicians”. How they twist, turn, manipulate chatter and events to their benefit. Those people are amateurs. The ones in Washington do it for a living. They’re professionals. They’re not necessarily smart but they are able to get ahead by twisting, turning and manipulating things to their own advantage.

The GOPe is in their “they’ll come crawling back” phase now. It will take a while for them to realize that we can all function very well without them. By that time, they will no longer be insiders, but outsiders.

Without even a possible candidate to represent them in their childish tantrum, what they're saying is total, incoherent gibberish.

Thousands of deaths, and trillions of dollars, have gone to waste in the Middle East.

China becomes more belligerent — and richer — year after year.

The surge in illegal immigration has bitterly divided our country, and has made a joke of GOP claims to be the party of law and order.

Liberals on the Supreme Court — with help from a Reagan appointee — did impose gay marriage in every state, and now threaten the religious liberties of those Americans brave enough to express traditional Christian teachings on marriage.

President Obama continues to abuse his power. And with the authority given him by a Republican Congress, he’s negotiated a trade deal so bad that Hillary Clinton, his former secretary of state, now has to pretend that she opposes it.

Countries that trust 'the people' tend to be free... countries that trust 'elites' tend to be hellholes. The "Smart People' our conservative elites screwed us over when they quit trusting the people. It shouldn't be that way. We wish Socrates had been right about Philosopher Kings, but he wasn't. Elites devolve into insensitive jerks feathering their own nests... every culture - every time period. Trusting 'the people' is the best choice among the few that work... Laura Ingraham's a treasure...
