Other than the possibility of GOP convention shenanigans the primary is over. Trump is the nominee. Yet today on talk radio and in the punditry and elsewhere I see people still saying they won't support him.
The most common objections-
"Trump is not conservative."
Perhaps, but (look them up) his stances on the issues have a big overlap with conservatism. More than Romney or McCain ever had.
"He doesn't mean it"
When the media went after him for his positions he still stood by them steadfast. Most republicans would have caved under such pressure. Trump did not.
"His past is liberal"
Yes, he has had some things in his past that look bad. So what should we do? Stay home and get everything we all KNOW we don't want? or take a chance that Trump might be sincere in his change of mind? if he is not, and wins, then in four years we can vote him out.
IF he is any, or all, of those things... still he loves America more than any of the other candidates, GOP or Dem.
Amen.
Been saying it...as a Cruz supporter...since after the NY primary.
My Letter to Ted Cruz after NY
http://www.jeffhead.com/Cruz-ltr.htm
I respect Cruz for backing away from the abyss last night, particularly in the midst of the latest feud. But he did what was best for the country...and it surprised quite a few people.
Now we hear Kasich will drop out...and he should have done so long ago.
The goal and the focus now has to be defeating Hillary or whomever the DNC nominates.
Trumps positions, that he has espoused and then detailed on his web site will turn America around and are far better than anything any democrat would ever do.
The GOP needs to back these...and back Trump. If necessary, hold his feet to the fire, but I am willing to be he will be more true to those positions than many GOPe candidates have been for sure...and that is the whole reason his campaign has prevailed.
Whoopee, the underemployed middle class has a jobs candidate.
Welcome aboard the Trump Train.
Glad to have you.
No, if you take a look at his stands on the issues he is way more in line with conservatism than McCain or Romney EVER was (Bush as well).
Will he stand by those positions? I don't know, but I'm willing a shot to find out.
Make America Great Again.
Absolutely. Trump 2016!
Hell I voted for those two RINOs John McCain and Mitt Romney. I’d still vote for Jeb Bush rather than let Hillary become president.
Narcissistic Buffoon vs. Malignant Cancer pretty much decides it for me. Trump couldn't cause as much damage to America as Hillary, if he tried.
If only party matters, and not principle, then I would agree with you.

Hillary thanks you.
Consider the issues ....
- abortion
- defense
- trade
- economy
- etc.
Yeah, it may not be what you want but what are the options? He’s not my ideal candidate either but I won’t be supporting Hillary.
There really is no choice. I’m a very disappointed social conservative but we can’t have Hillary making the next 4 SCOTUS nominees. Trump won his mud wrestling contest and now his next important decision will be his veep choice.
You’re right; but Mrs. Bill feels she is entitled to win all fifty states + DC, of course
A statement that tells me you have no principles, since you are willing to support a communist criminal who will destroy America and Christians. Way to go, champ!
“8 years of Obama have been an absolute disaster for our country and Hillary promises more of it.
Thats exactly what America doesnt need.”
EVERYBODY needs to grasp what you’ve said! I just wished that the “Conservative Purists” were the only one’s who would have to suffer under another 4 years (at least 4 years) of a futher extension of Obola.
“Trump won fair and square - time to unite.”
Unite with what? A anti-gun, planned parenthood loving liberal?
“Loves America?”
That’s a weak position when you consider that;
EVERY SINGLE CANDIDATE AND LEADER OF EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAS PROCLAIMED THEIR LOVE OF COUNTRY.
O.K. I'm sure Hillary will be better.
End that with a "!" son, with a "!"!
(After looking at your post history, I can see you weren't being sarcastic...)
Then some here ought to cease comparing them, especially when Trump called Reagan 'a con man who couldn't deliver the goods' and referred to his tax cuts as 'a disaster for America.'
“Read Trumps positions on the issues. Would you rather a president with those stances or Hillary? This is an easy choice.”
When looking at his lifelong positions, some of which are well left of Hillary’s, as opposed to those Trump adopted after he started thinking about running for president, I see the choice as between two lying, gun grabbing, pro abortion, pro-illegal immigration socialists.
Thanks anyways. I will pass.
