Reagan, as others have opined through the recent years, probably wouldn’t be seen as a conservative in today’s environment.
Reagan was not a neocon globalist, nor was he an across the board free trade advocate, so he would be anathema to today’s GOPe.
I’ve heard that said often enough. I never bought into it.
Reagan did get off the beaten track at times, but his advisors were the problem IMO.
Some of his trade ideas were well meaning in the day, but are seen for what they are/were now.
In his day, they seemed reasoned.
