List of Republicans Who Vow to Never Support Donald Trump

A number of prominent Republicans are vowing to never back Donald Trump even as he closes in on the GOP presidential nomination.

The “Never Trump” ranks include lawmakers, party operatives, pundits and GOP donors — and the movement even sparked a popular hashtag on social media.

They are convinced Trump as standard-bearer would lead the GOP to a devastating defeat in November, costing the party the Senate and potentially the House.

The real estate mogul, though, is marching ahead, and now has 994 of the 1,237 delegates needed to capture the nomination, according to the Associated Press.

And there are growing signs many in the GOP establishment are warming to Trump. He’s been endorsed by 11 lawmakers, with others regularly attending Capitol Hill meetings with his staff. Trump has also declared himself the “presumptive nominee.”

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus has criticized the Never Trump movement as well. “It is essential to victory in November that we all support our candidate,” Priebus said at the RNC’s spring meeting.

Trump’s opponents are focused on trying to deny him the delegates needed to secure the nomination in hopes of forcing a contested convention in July.

Here’s a list of Republicans who won’t back Trump as nominee.

I know he loves Cruz and hates Trump, but did he say he wouldn’t vote for Trump?

I haven’t listened much for the last month, but it always seemed to me he was careful not to go that far.

“This isn’t about purity. It is about survival.”

Amen.

I’ve been telling my purist buddies that very thing since Trump announced.

We’ve gone too far down the slippery slide as a country to even think about ideological purity in a president at this time. We need a hard as nails commander to kick the crap out of the elitist weasels in Washington, and take charge of our out of control government, before the country falls to ruin.

Trump is the only one running who even remotely fits that bill.

“I never heard him go all the way to nevertrump”

He didn’t need to come right out and say it. The message came through loud and clear in everything he did say.

If an elected representative refuses to abide by the electorate......they need to lose their jobs. Seems pretty simple to me.

Listen, or go work at Del Taco.

I offer no olive branch as I feel They owe me an apology. I will, however; move over and offer them an oar if they’ll get in the boat and help row row for PIAPS defeat. I don’t have to like them and they don’t have to like me for us to work together against a great evil.

THAT is the right attitude. People need to understand what a precarious situation the republic is in, and then grab a bucket and start bailing. There's plenty time for recrimination later. It really is becoming a case of hang together or be hanged separately.

“Don’t you just LOVE the losers trying to dictate the terms of their surrender?”

They’re trippin, if they think I’ll send them roses.

In order to survive and be effective ,Trump will have to style existing DHS as a type of Gestapo.

Nice of #Never Trump to put together a list for them.

All bets are off

I hope they don't change their minds, or if they do, Trump remembers and refuses to put any of them in his administration.

A number of these folks are card-carrying neocons. We don't need any more war-hucksters giving policy advice.

That is sad. I hope they change their minds. 2 people stood out to me that surprised me. Ben Stein and JC Watts. Why would they put themselves on the list? I remember holding my nose for Romney but I voted for him because it was anybody but Obama. Now, it is anybody but Hillary. Come on people.

“Yes, but he has to survive”

He can do it without another dime from me.

I actually respect Levin and Stabby more than Rush, at this point. They staked their careers on the outcome of this race, while Rush bid behind clever wordcraft. He’ll soon be singing Trump’s praises, as though he was always his good buddy ol’ pal.

The man is too slick by half, but lots of us have seen through him this time.

**** “Let’s watch them change their minds and come to Trump!” ***

Then use em up fast and short, cause they will be the first to turn against you when the real work starts.

There are real and hard times ahead... we can’t overlook that.

Maybe he has gone off the deep end.

When I used to listen he still had the perspective of how bad Hillary was, to rein him in somewhat.

I only caught the last few minutes tonight. He wasn’t saying much, just letting the callers rant.

John Bolton was on Fox assuring everyone that Hillary is not the war monger that everyone thinks she is.

Here it comes.

I’m guessing none of them were among the Republicans who refused to vote for Romney.
