well, congrats to the democrats for pulling this off....have a well known bully puppet of a man run as a pub, fool enough people to crucify other decent candidates and then for the rest of the year, run a terrible campaign deliberately to elect the witch...

I hope I am wrong...but I fear I am not...

Trump is not a conservative, he's not really a republican, and frankly, I don't know what he is....

sure, I'll vote for him...I won't be a jerk like so many freepers who refused to back Romney....

isn't it ironic the vitriol thrown at Romney because he wasn't a "pure" conservative...and it seems the same dimwats are backing Trump who is a complete leftist statist....

A serious question.

Does this do anything except reduce the remaining primaries to a one-on-one with Kasich?

That is, since he is "suspending" (like Carson, and Rubio) their delegates are pledged to them on the *first* round at the convention (and if Trump hits 1237 anyway, talk about futility!)...

...but what happens on the 2nd round? Do the delegates so carefully pickpocketed harvested by Cruz, turn on him, and go to Kasich? Or do they go with the Donald as inevitable, or out of spite?

Speaking of that.

I have long thought Heidi Cruz is a social / political climber. Do you think there's a non-negligible chance she will dump Ted and make a play for some other rising star?

...and, those rumors of affairs with staffers. Now that Cruz is not actively campaigning, will the rumors die out (as they are no longer 'useful' ?) or, if one says for the sake of argument that some of the affairs were real, will the girls continue to hitch their wagon to Cruz now that he is no longer "all that" ?

Anyone hear from Glen Beck?

I worry about his safety.

In all seriousness, I do wonder what the next card played will be.

Cruz was a conservative candidate, someone I have been waiting to support for years. Trump insulted Cruz and his family in the worst possible way. I will NEVER support or vote for Trump. He represents the absolute worst in politics. He ran a classic democrat campaign of personal destruction. Good luck supporting this clown.

Trump was not my choice, but Trump is the nominee. I will not take my ball and go home. I will support Trump just as I supported Romney and McCain before him.

Trump is infinitely better than Hillary or Sanders, just as Romney and McCain were both infinitely better than Obama. Supporting the Republican nominee is almost always a no-brainer, and 2016 is no exception.

God bless him for manning up and stepping away.

This at least gives us hope that we can see a united party that will allow Trump to win a great victory in November,.

After all that was said, after his anger earlier in the day...it is clear that he took and followed good advise and dropped out.

Many did not expect him to do so. I give him a lot of credit for doing it.

As a supporter of his, I had pled with him to do so.

I’ll give Ted credit for not sticking it out until he has to be dragged away kicking and screaming and even the guy that lights his cigars has quit the campaign.

I hope somebody is keeping an eye on the Cheeto Bandido, he’s gonna be upset and he’s not real stable these days. For the first time in 8 years, I might listen to him on they way to work. There is a high probability that he’ll have a guest host on, though, called in by Glenn’s producer after he refuses to get out of bed.

I liked Ted a lot before learning about his globalist and Goldman ties. The way he stood alone against the Senate and Obama is very commendable. I hope there can be a place for him on Trump’s team if not the Supreme court. Either way he’s a young guy and I would doubt we’ve heard the last from him. Good fight, Mr Cruz and best of luck to you.
