Yes, this is it. People who are political commenters or political junkies (like here) are arguing over ideology when that is silly, vapid luxury at this time in our nation’s history. You lost those arguments decades ago and the nation has already long gone an entirely different direction. This, now, is about whether we will be a nation at all - or just form of province in an internationalist system. This is about nationalism - our identity as a nation... or not.
You can argue ideology all you want but you are arguing about phantoms when you should be concerned about national identity. Because that is what this is about now, and that is what the Trump campaign is about. The people who don’t follow politics closely, who just live their lives, or try to, understand this...and that is why Trump is winning.
