But that's the hole in your logic though. If Trump hadn't run, a conservative would have never had a chance. Cruz would have been eliminated after NH due to Jeb's money and the establishment would have pressured him to leave. So that would have left Jeb as the nominee.

Cruz is where he is today because of Trump. Trump plowed the road and got rid of the establishment candidates. Cruz would have never made it this far.

And Trump supports fair trade, border security, and reining in the size of government. He's not perfect, I have reservations about him on social issues, but right now he recognizes that protecting our sovereignty is more important.

In my case, it *was* Mr. Cruz.

Until he began purposefully mis representing others’ positions, until his campaign started doing dirty trick after dirty trick, all while campaigning as Mr. Evangelical.

That tore it with me.

I have read your posts, and understand your disappointment. I was entranced by Cruz back at the beginning. Then I noticed that he didn’t walk the walk.

I then decided to rethink about what “conservative” actually means, and I read Trump’s position on various subjects, posted on his website. I realized that he is a conservative in all of the economic issues, and most of the social issues, but doesn’t think these are as critical to this election as the primary issues of protecting the country, ending the “cronyism”, and fixing the economic mess we are in.

Maybe after tonight, go to Trump’s website, research his positions, and think about what “conservatives” really are - and then decide who can fix the mess we face.

I decided that Cruz, as good as he talks, didn’t have the skills to do much more than talk, and would have a very hard time getting support from Congress, and would be destroyed by the Democrats in the general election.

My best to you in making your choice. We are in a very difficult time, and I am not sure Trump will be able to do all he wants to, but he looks like our best choice at the moment.

There are still 6 months to go before we have to vote, and a lot can happen between now and then.
