Video posted on YouTube shows a woman at a Walmart store loudly berating a man who was paying for his groceries with food stamps.
As a child sits in the mans shopping cart looking on, the woman complains about how she is paying for his food with her tax money.
NOTE: The description below, and video above, contains strong language.
You know, I put in 50-60 hour weeks... trying to provide for my family, the man says, although some of his words are unclear.
Youre not providing for it, I am, the woman snaps back. The government is.
Youre not, the man says.
They take it out of my check, the woman says. Bull**** they dont.
The man suggests she complain to her lawmaker or vote Republican.
Oh, trust me, I am not a bleeding heart f*****g liberal, the woman answers.
The rest of the clip contains a similar back-and-forth, punctuated with expletives. Both appear to be shopping with children.
Deal with it, b***h, the man says at one point.
At another point, the woman claims the man must be a supporter of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
Thats exactly what you vote for, they give it to you so that you vote that way, the woman says.
This is an EXCELLENT demonstration of how succesful the government has indoctrinated the FSA.
It is not “YOUR” money. It is government money. I just had this argument the other day with someone who has a free government ride to college for his SECOND masters degree along with EBT and SSI. He has gone from relatively sane liberal to bat crab Bernie Sanders crazy liberal demanding endless free stuff.
The payola to the fatcats might be justified (falsely or truly) as “investment in business.” Which is supposed to end up benefiting many. Doesn’t necessarily make it right but could make it understandable why it is considered more acceptable.
But one could equally well say it’s the money you paid back when you were better off... one big problem with socialist carousels is that they are hard to step off of. Someone will be left holding the bag.
Of course some cry louder for other sins than others it seems...
She harassed him and needs to be arrested.
She might have counted on him being too intimidated to try that.
Now a real class act would have been for her to invite him to her church to be helped.
You got it right. The people who are truly needy, despite having worked hard all their lives, unfortunately get lumped in with the bums.
A very sick woman I know—she’s in her 50s but looks much older— works and gets food stamps because she can’t afford to pay for her kidney dialysis otherwise (and she can’t afford the Obamacare premiums and deductibles.)
Her doctor advised her to take prenatal vitamins for her iron-deficiency anemia.
She told me she was verbally abused in the grocery checkout by a soccer mom who pointed at her bottle of prenatal vitamins and started bellowing about “welfare trash who refuse to work and won’t stop having babies.”
I know that in my local Winco store in California they had to put up a sign telling people using welfare they could not use their cards to take more than $40-$50 (I forget exactly) in “cash back” on their card, and that the store was not a bank. I sometimes use my debit card to take $100 extra out for convenience if not close to the bank. I don’t think welfare cards, which replaced food stamps, should be used to take out cash...it should only be designated for food. Too much scamming of the system.

Heh heh. Thanks for the chuckle.
Hey Red I’m not taking sides on this, just making an observation that things like this, justified or not, will continue to happen, IMO. If I had to choose between starving and an EBT, I’d go with the EBT I’m sure. The problem is that welfare has become a shame-free lifestyle and ceased being a stigmatized, temporary safety net a long freakin’ time ago.
Question:
Who is working for minimum wage?
All the fast food joints around me (suburbs of Chicago) are hiring.
Podunk, Michigan fast food joints have signs on the windows. $8.50-$9 an hour, starting.
At $8.50, puts them over.
Dunno. Could be. But I’ve humped a fair amount at shitty paying jobs just to keep a nostril above water.
Personally I believe that food STAMPS should be exactly that... big obvious looking stamps with nasty tasting glue, every one of which that must be licked and stuck to a big clown shaped card to be turned in. -MarineBrat
I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed...that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. -Ben Franklin
I also wonder what he bought before whipping out the SNAP/food stamp card.
If a guy with a kid is just buying chicken, vegetables, snacks, it shouldn’t be a big deal.
If he’s whipped out $50 for cigarettes while using taxpayer funded programs to pay for steaks, energy drinks and junk food, that’s a reason to gripe.
This is just sad.
I’ve had people see me with a shopping list and offer to buy groceries with their card in exchange for cash.
Cash is sometimes used to buy diapers, wipes, laundry soap, etc.
