Plain speaking used to be favored over politeness in this country. Insistence on politeness at all times got us politically correct speech and is part of why we are in the current mess.

I suppose if it were your child in the old fairy tale about the Emperor and his ‘new clothes’ you would chastise him for not phrasing “He’s stark naked!!!” in a more ‘polite’ fashion?

What has “plain” speaking to do with being RUDE? If you think an 11 yr old speaking to an adult in that was is somehow acceptable then you have a problem.

Plain spokeness is not the same as disruptiveness.

This child wasn’t asked his opinion of Cruz, or even interjecting himself into a conversation about the topic, he decided to just shout it out to be disruptive.

You can be plain spoken without being an a$$.

One does not have to be rude to speak plainly. Too bad you cannot tell the difference.
