The Republican senator gave up his dual citizenship months after first learning he was a Canadian citizen Texas Senator (and possible 2016 presidential hopeful) Ted Cruz has formally given up his Canadian citizenship, about nine months after learning he had it. While at home in Houston on Tuesday, Cruz was notified by mail that the renunciation became official on May 14, The Dallas Morning News reports. “He’s pleased to receive the notification and glad to have this process finalized,” spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said. Cruz intended to give up his Canadian citizenship, which was not a secret, after The Dallas Morning News first brought it to his attention — to the surprise of him and his family — last August. “Nothing against Canada, but I’m an American by birth and as a U.S. senator, I believe I should be only an American,” said Cruz, who was born in the Canadian province of Alberta, at the time. Like U.S. law, Canadian law dictates that anyone born in Canada becomes a Canadian citizen automatically. Babies born in non-U.S. countries to at least one American parent are entitled to American citizenship as well. The U.S. Constitution requires presidents to be “natural born” citizens, which is commonly believed to include Americans born with the right to citizenship, even if they were not born on American soil specifically.

Actually, if you were to research and do simple searches, it has always been understood to mean AT MINIMUM native birth. Native birth has but one definition.
If we focus solely on the native birth angle, and disregard any parental citizenship, we will find that throughout American history, and indeed in a dozen congressional attempts made since 1970 to amend the Art. II eligibility requirements, it is always, ALWAYS acknowledged that native birth in the US is required.
But then, I have personally spent over 500 hours reading material from the 1790s forward on just this particular topic. Most people don’t commit to such a study.

That is a bald faced lie. At no point in English, British, British American, or U.S. history has any child been born abroad with natural born citizenship. Anyone wishing to dispute this historical record needs to cite the historical names of the people who were born abroad as natural born citizens without the protection of diplomatic immunity.

Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649, 18 S.Ct. 456, 42 L.Ed. “A person born out of the jurisdiction of the United States can only become a citizen by being naturalized....” The U.S. Supreme Court also previously decided a child born abroad with TWO U.S. CITIZEN PARENTS acquired no U.S. citizenship, naturalized or natural born, during the periods of time in which there was no Naturalization Act in effect to grant naturalized U.S. citizenship. Congress had to legislate a special act on February 10, 1855 to naturalize such foreign born children of U.S. citizen parents. Such naturalized U.S. citizenship is most definitely not natural born citizenship. So, “SCOTUS” decided and settled the issue of such children being born without natural born citizenship more than 171 years ago and reaffirmed the prohibition of natural born citizenship repeatedly since then in a number of U.S. Supreme Court decisions.

You have just demonstrated your perfidy against every person who is sworn to protect and defend the Constitution and the Rule of Law against all persons, foreign and domestic, who threaten and defy them. Ted Cruz is not a natural born citizen and at most can be no more than a naturalized U.S. citizen, possibly by the illegal immigrant amnesty granting naturalized U.S. citizenship in the 1980s. You claim Trump was a draft dodger, so now it is up to you to prove the claim.

Ted didn’t turn 16 until nearly 1987 (Dec birthday).
If mom really did take out Canadian citizenship, Ted could have applied for Reagan Amnesty in 1986 at age 15, just in time for driver’s license and paper at age 16 in 1987 or in 1986 during Christmas break.
