When Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump declared he was the presumptive nominee this week, much news coverage challenged him on it. A new survey reveals that GOP voters appear to agree with Mr. Trump: 89 percent now agree that the candidate will win the nomination, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released Friday.
The number of Republican voters who believe Mr. Trump will be the nominee has risen by 18 percentage points in less than a week. The poll analysis cites his sweeping primary victories in New York and five other states in recent days as deciding factors.
To show how far Trump has come in a presidential bid that most considered highly improbable at the time, just 25 percent of Republicans said he was the likely nominee, Rasmussen reported.
Americans in general agree. Among all likely voters, 80 percent believe the billionaire will be on the national ballot in seven months.

The stress of the campaign is slimming him up and as the flesh thins on the face the nose will look more prominent. It is true that the catillidge of the nose and ear keep growning until we die but not so fast you would see it in a year. Unless Ted is an alien.
Maybe Rafael should seek treatment back home.

and Hillary is not running against Cruz, but Trump. That should tell you something—SHE doesn’t believe second place Cruz is the presumptive nominee.
First loser.
The recent remarks by Boehner, Rubio, Pence, Priebus and others in the GOPe make this more obvious than the polls and the current delegate count.
The silence from Bush and Romney is telling also.
Excellent point, I agree.

Trump gets some 1300 delegates total. A week ago, I had him at just 1240 to 1250. After Tuesday, that changed.
Hes going to win this.
And when he does, we win this.
And when we do, our nation wins this.
And when our nation does, the world will win this.
There is help on the way.
Its morning in America again.
YES! I couldn’t agree more.
We’ve needed this for years and it’s most encouraging it’s on the way.
You better believe it! So true...
Where did all the Cruz supporters go?
Per Twitter, Carson unbound his delegates and 2 more went to Trump, who is now unofficially at 1004, just 233 away.
Thank you for the good news.
Have you heard anything about Indiana polls?
Carson has 9. I’ve wondering about his delegates going to Trump. Nice to see 2 of them going to Trump :-)
Just the bogus Soros-paid-for poll from yesterday. Like I said, though, IN doesn’t matter. Trump wins it with WV, NJ, and CA and STILL has OR and NM in reserve where he is leading in both.
I am also estimating 1300. Or mighty close.
“Any bets that Rush never mentions this Monday, but emphasizes the poll that shows Cruz surging.”
Totally agree, Rush will be pumping Cruz non-stop on Monday to try and increase his chances on Tuesday of winning...which are slim to none.
Maybe the ones that didn’t opus or weren’t zotted finally saw the light or at least got the message.
