Although Trump seems to be making a concerted effort to appear more presidential by delivering a speech on foreign policy in Washington on April 27 and more traditional by bringing in grown-ups like veteran GOP political operative Paul Manafort, his choice of a running mate could still be as unconventional as his cant-look-away campaign has been.
Among the obvious candidates are former rivals like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who threw himself onto Trumps gold-plated bandwagon shortly after pulling out of the primary race; Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who would help in his crucial home state and possibly offset some of the Hispanic animus toward the illegal immigrant-bashing billionaire; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, an early primary dropout and former darling of conservative fat cats; and Ben Carson, the soft-spoken former neurosurgeon who has endorsed Trump and could add gravitas to the ticket plus as an African American, he might make it seem more inclusive.

In my opinion, an excellent or even the best choice would be Dr. Condoleezza Rice. She has superb credentials, including having been National Security Advisor for pres. GW Bush.
She would truly be an asset and also coincidentally would show everyone that Trump selects the best people for his administration, regardless of color, race or gender.
A Bushbot whose tied to the Iraq war that Trump opposed? Nope.
Try again.
Rice? Hell No!
While Dr. Rice would fill the bill, anyone remotely connected to GWB’s admin would be a non-starter because Hitlary would have a field day making the Trump Admin an extension of the Boosh Admin. No Sale! Besides she likes it out here at Stanford where she can be close to her mother.
James Stockdale.
Rice? No way!
Oh, and please, Mr. Trump, do not pick Sarah Palin. I love Sarah, but her time was a couple years ago. Sarah seems less effective this go round, for some reason. I think her mind is on her husband’s healing. I also think Sarah remains somewhat traumatized by the tidal waves of hate splashed on her by dems and republicans. I too would remain gun shy after being treated that way. Move on Donald. There are other talented people ready to help you succeed.
Who am I? Why am I here?
I want Duncan Hunter Jr. Military Vet, could help in CA, right age, very smart, nice looking fellow, tough, speaks exceedingly well, on the right side of most issues, esp. immigration.
LOL. You think Trump would pick him? Not a chance.
“Who am I? Why am I here?”
Wasn’t that Curtis Le May?
Liberal Condoleezza?
Condoleezza Rice she is a neocon globalist, no sale.
No, that was Stockdale, Ross Perot’s VP pick. Stockdale actually opened the VP debate with those words. Don’t know whether it was a joke or a lapse; either way, it didn’t inspire confidence.
Someone who does NOT support the New World Order.
You mean Condi Rice who compared the fact that Israel makes palestinian Arabs go through security checkpoints to the treatment of black Americans in the pre-Civil Rights era?
No thanks.
Jim Webb. ;o)
None of the old Bush league...NONE!
