Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz has tapped former technology executive Carly Fiorina as his running mate in the race for the White House.
The Texas senator plans to formally unveil his pick for vice president Wednesday afternoon in Indianapolis.
That's according to a Republican with direct knowledge of the plan, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized speak before the official announcement.
Cruz is trying to generate momentum for his struggling campaign. GOP front-runner Donald Trump swept primaries in five Northeastern states on Tuesday.
Cruz has been mathematically eliminated from winning enough delegates to clinch the Republican presidential nomination before primary voting ends.
But he's pushing to claim the nomination at a contested national convention in July.
The 61-year-old Fiorina endorsed Cruz earlier in the year after abandoning her own presidential bid. The former chief executive at Hewlett-Packard has never held elected office.

I actually listened to 1-2 minutes of Beck early today. He was speaking about how Cruz would tap Fiorina as his VP candidate.
Beck and the gang were going along like everything was completely normal.
They’re seriously effed up. They must live in Southwest Effing.

No, good catch!
I am Southern Baptist, raised that way. Let me tell you, Southern Baptist are very loosey goosey when it comes to what it accepts or allows in each affiliate congregation (for example, some can dance, some cannot.) BUT .THREE THINGS are not acceptable ANYWHERE to Southern Baptists: GAMBLING, DRINKING, and NOT TITHING:

(Today, Apri 27) During Carly Fiorinas running-mate acceptance speech in Indianapolis, Fiorina described Cruz as a really fun dude whos able to make last-second bets on exciting basketball games.
She revisited the final moments of that epic national title game between Villanova and North Carolina. Fiorina and Cruz were watching the game on the bus, and after Marcus Paiges incredible 3, Cruz threw money on the table. USA TODAY

On CNNs Republican Presidential Townhall, Republican candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) told Anderson Cooper that he drinks alcohol What is your favorite cocktail? Cooper asked Cruz. I am a scotch man, Cruz responded. CNN [PS---scotch is not a cocktail; its a distilled spirit, a member of the whiskey family.]

According to recently released tax records, the Texas senator contributed less than 1 percent of his income to charity between 2006 and 2010. But many Christians believe that the Bible commands a charitable offering, or tithe, equal to 10 percent of ones annual earnings. The Atlantic
LOL
This is over so he can't do something like pick a vp . it's absurd but that is the top story? and no one is talking about that it is over , that Trump is the nominee because of the margin of victory is so great ass to distinguish Trump as the nominee and diminish Cruz as a loser. all everyone is talking about is fiorina. The media still are distractors
NO the sweep victory should have been talked about endlessly today all day each time builing up momentum and the bandwagon effect instead no mention of it as if it didn't happen and then we talk about Cruz ‘s vp pick fiorina, and other things not the sweep that proves it is over .
What a perfect time for Cruz to steal delegates along the path.
Haven't met one so far. We would probably have to strip him of his dolphins. LOL!
How would I know what that RINO is up to!?
Good post. You're right, I missed it too. Cruz just threw away his strongest card to play, if by a miracle, there's a second ballot - which is his only chance at the nomination. He's a political idiot. I begin to see why so few senators can stand him.
Nothing like baiting Russia into a global thermonuclear war to brighten everyone's day!
(Do I really need to include /s?)
The very first congress passed tariffs and restrictive immigration legislation. Trump's platform may be out of step with the modern globalist consensus but it's closer to the Founder's vision than we've seen since the Coolidge administration.
A patriotic economic policy is as American as apple pie.
She is hated in CA. Rightly or Wrongly she is blamed for everything that ever went wrong with HP. Her message fell flat when she ran for Senate and it fell flat during the primaries.
This is a bush league mistake. It shows that neophytes are currently in charge at the Cruz campaign. Just when I thought Cruz couldn't go lower on my respect scale he proves me wrong.

ADDENDUM: To future campaigns: When you're behind in the polls and losing the race for the presidential nomination and you think the right Vice President can make the difference. . . You're wrong! It's a signal that it's time to throw in the towel. The Presidential campaign is NEVER about who your Vice President is going to be.
Political Corollary: A Vice President can't help you only hurt you.
That's why there are so many dud Vice Presidents you have to pick a person that doesn't overshadow you, but has a good enough record that no one questions your judgement.
Yes it is a bad choice for a headline. I listened to Carly’s speech and it was very moving. They certainly get the importance of this election. I do hope this goes to the convention. The vast majority of Republicans support some other candidate. I believe the exit polling showed that 40% of republicans could not support Mr. Trump if he is the nominee and 25% of republicans fear him. Hopefully, the Convention will bring people together - but I doubt it. I like Mr.Trump, but not as President. The damage he can do with his Supreme Court nominations alone is reason enough for me to vote against him. I will vote in November for the most Constitutional Conservatives I can identify. I think the GOP may be over no matter who wins the nomination. Conservatives, Libertarians, and Constitution minded folks may need to go their own way. Hopefully, the nation and our freedoms will survive.
