WASHINGTON (AP) -- In a rare formal policy speech, Republican front-runner Donald Trump vowed Wednesday to put American security "above all else" if elected president, warning allies they would be left to defend themselves if they don't "pay their fair share." He also called for an easing of tensions with Russia "from a position of strength, only."
"'America first' will be the major and overriding theme of my administration," Trump said in a 38-minute address at a Washington hotel.
Trump - fresh off a sweep of five Northeastern primaries that pushed him closer to the GOP nomination - sought to expand on foreign policy views that have lacked detail and worried experts in both parties. Still, he left major questions about his proposals unanswered, including his plan for defeating the Islamic State group, casting his sparse details as a strategy for catching America's enemies off guard.

Anything would be better than the limp wristed, pants wetting, safe space, pajama boys that are currently in charge of American foreign policy...literally anything, hell my nine year old would do a better job than the current administration.
Good policies follow good principles.
“America and Americans first” is a great principle to base policy on.
“If he gives some specifics like defunding the UN, I will think Trump deserves a close look.”
If Trump shuts down Iran’s ability to produce a nuclear weapon that’s not bad either...Kerry and Odumbo are so getting punked by Iran on this deal...but Odumbo wanted a deal SOOOOOO bad he didn’t care how bad it was for America.
Just read a transcript of his speech and I encourage others, especially Cruz fans, to do the same. There may be a lot of rancor between Trump and Cruz (and especially between vocal supporters) but these men have more in common than they have apart when it comes to what they can accomplish for the country. I have long thought that Cruz would be a better president but I believe the party and the country is moving towards Trump and if that is the way things are I am excited about him as well.
So the AP wants him to spell out, in complete detail, exactly how he expects to defeat ISIS; now that's real military strategy.
Same thing with Cuba. Obama so wants to be remembered as a uniter, like Nixon going to China.
But, like Nixon, he will be remembered more for the TOTALITY of STUPID that saturated his Administration, than his one-off accomplishments!!

I love how the asspress idiots criticize their opponents for sparse details or not offering enough details to suit them. Hillary can lock them out of her speeches and they coo like little feminist birds.
I doubt that there is any rancor between Trump and Cruz. What we are seeing, and both men know it, is political theater.
I’m not the kind of person who runs around screaming “dog whistle!” But blast it if the phrase “America first” with its WWII-era connotations doesn’t sound like one.
They should turn it into congressional apartments so poor people could afford to live there after they are elected to congress.
Don’t hold your breath, Trump is the big ideas man in the race.
Cruz is the bean counter, the one who gives specifics, will deliver small ideas if his contributors allow him too.
Trump will enact the big ideas that save us. He has a decades long track record of delivering on big ideas.
Defunding the UN, while he may do it, has nothing to do with saving our country and I would be surprised if he will even allocate 2 seconds of thought to the possibility.
Hoping someone posts the complete video of the speech....got me excited...Hillary should be nervous.,...very NERVOUS!
