Secretary of State John Kerry and his wife Teresa Heinz have invested millions of U.S. dollars through family trusts in at least 11 offshore tax havens, according to an analysis by The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The revelation comes on the heels of the release of the Panama Papers, a treasure trove of 11.5 million legal and financial records documenting how some of the worlds richest and most powerful people have used offshore bank accounts to conceal their wealth and avoid taxes.

Much as I hate Kerry, can you really blame him?
Heh...pretty savvy, but risky though. Remember the yacht he refused to pay exorbitant MA taxes on?
Using the rules they setup for themselves and other elites.
The little people, not so much.
If we were fighting this war in the manner we should, every time we get into power we would make examples of these "Do as I say, not as I do" Liberal Democrats.
We would expose their hypocrisy and try to throw them in jail for tax evasion.
Of course not. There's NOTHING wrong with taking advantage of US tax laws, as long as it's done legally. There's something very wrong with voting for loopholes or of doing illegal things to avoid taxes. He's not doing that.
Besides that, it isn't Kerry's fortune. He's from a relatively poor branch of the Forbes family. It should be his wife's advisors who are in charge of all of that.
I'd much rather discuss why Kerry hasn't been more aggressive about disintegrating ISIS. Instead, he supports the Obama agenda of desmantling civilization.
I’m fine with this. I just want this right extended to everyone.
The elites want to hide their cash, while yours is exposed and available for them to tax and spend.
Financial privacy is basic to liberty. It is, for that matter, basic to your personal safety. The same mechanisms that the rich use to hide their wealth should be available to you. This simply means that taxation methods should not depend upon average citizens exposing all of their personal finances to the government. There are other ways of doing it, and no one considers them as long as the income tax is front and center. Remove the income tax, replace it with any number of other taxes, and the need for shelters and offshore secret accounts disappears... though the right to an offshore secret account should be as precious as the first amendment.
The system is corrupt. Elected officials get rich because of their office. Then they make laws to control the normal people.
IF I had enough money in the bank, I’d try to find a safe place for it, too.
IMHO, we’re headed for a period of ‘negative interest rates’ and ‘bail-ins.’

Our government as a whole doesn't follow the laws. I'm thinking particularly sanctuary cities, immigration enforcement, holding corrupt IRS officials accountable, holding insurance/banking executives responsible for setting off financial meltdowns. It is incredible to watch our country disintegrate.
Kerry did this with a yacht he bought too.
Here is the story on Kerry’s $7 million dollar yacht.
