ROME Just what is it that the Vatican does not get about predator priests? Apparently a lot.
Father Joseph Jeyapaul is a priest from India who admitted to raping two adolescent girls in Minnesota when he served the Crookston diocese from 2004 to 2005.
After being charged with the abuse, which included rape and forcing at least one of the girls to perform fellatio on him, he fled home to India, where he was eventually arrested on an Interpol warrant. He was then extradited back to Minnesota, where he admitted his heinous crimes and entered a plea bargain in which, in exchange for a lighter sentence, he copped to molestation of one of the girls.
Jeyapaul was suspended from the priesthood and served a year and a day in prison in Minnesota, then was deported back to India after his release last July. The Minnesota diocese where he worked also settled a civil lawsuit with the victims in which one accused him of systematic abuse in the confessional of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenbush, Minnesota, where he would then tell the girl it was her fault, that she had made him impure.
How much more proof would one need that the man cannot be trusted with minors?
Apparently, Jeyapauls rap sheet is not enough to kick him out of the priesthood for good. In February, the Vatican approved lifting his suspension from the priesthood and agreed that he could be reassigned to a new parish in India. That parish even made him the diocesan head of its commission for education.

“Actually they kicked all the parisioners out of “The Church”. This area has beautiful old Catholic cathedrals and churches...empty, nearly empty and “repurposed” When?
Starting in the 60s, when the Soviets began the American “cultural revolution” and subsequently won.”
No doubt Leftism infected the members of the Church, but parishes shut down in America for two reasons:
1) Inner city parishes shut down because the parishioners moved to the suburbs in the 1950s onward. No people = no parish.
2) Contraception. If Catholics had not adopted contraception, there would be tens of millions more than there are now and all the parishes would be filled to overflowing.
“Do you not remember “God is dead”?”
I remember it, but that was written in 1882 - 80 years before the 1960s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_is_dead
Jesus never promised his church would be full of sinless people.
And without true contrition and an intent to amend your life, your confession would be invalid and worthless. So you’re wrong.
Unless you're speaking in coded terms of homosexuals, in which case I agree with you. Men with *that* particular set of moral issues don't belong in the priesthood.
What's this got to do with correct theology??
Catholic_Wannabe_Dude(Hail Mary!!!)
Galatians 5:12 New International Version (NIV)
As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!
...detached.
No He didn't but God gave us clear instructions in His word on what to do with immorality in the midst of the church and what the qualifications for leadership should be.
The Catholic church is not following the instructions that are in the Bible they claim they wrote.
It's rank hypocrisy.
They are disobedient to God and will have to answer for it.
And the cavalier way Catholics dismiss the reprehensible behavior of their priests is disgusting.
Sometimes a cigar IS a cigar!
Go back - speak UP!
They DO?
So you've researched ALL of them and found that EVERYTHING they promote is lies.
HMMMmmm...
Somewhere along the line you've gotten hurt by some 'religion' and have now tarred them all with the same brush.
But; I could be mistaken in my assessment of the situation.
Jesus never promised a lot of things; but that has not stopped Rome from conjuring them up.
I didn't say everything every religion promotes is a lie. I said they all perpetuate lies for money, which is true.
So it does go all the way to the top...
You're gonna be going up the ladder a pretty good ways.
And yet he may...If he is not informed someone should inform him...And if he does not reverse the decision, he's just as guilty as the priest...
We know.
How could the pope not find out?
As a matter of fact, since he is the head over the organization, he is responsible for the behavior of those under him.
The pope not knowing is NOT an excuse.
There’s a world of difference between struggling with temptation and engaging in sin.
Scripture doesn’t say that men who struggle with temptation can’t fill the office to which they are called.
It DOES say that if they engage, they are disqualified.
Catholic defense of this as *everyone does it*, *they’re just a sinner like everyone else*, etc, is disgusting.
"Unless you're speaking in coded terms of homosexuals, in which case I agree with you."
Metmom, you don't seem to have noticed that campion was agreeing with you, at the very least to this extent.
I grew up 20 miles from Crookston. Played a lot of hockey there.
