Opinion: Burr-Feinstein antiencryption bill a firing offense
Christian Science Monitor ^ | April 19, 2016 | Sascha Meinrath

The Burr-Feinstein antiencryption bill isn't just bad, it's evidence of a dangerous incompetence in congressional leadership that is undermining America’s security.

In fact, the draft bill, leaked two weeks ago and now officially released, is compelling evidence that Senate leadership should strip – or at least not reappoint – Senators Burr and Feinstein of their positions on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

Amongst its many provisions, the draft bill mandates that tech companies make all of our online data "intelligible" when presented with a court order. The bill defines intelligible as "decrypted, deciphered, decoded, demodulated, or deobfuscated" to "the Government of the United States and the government of the District of Columbia, or any commonwealth or possession of the United States, of an Indian Tribe, or of any State or political subdivision thereof."

More proof the ruling class believes it owns this country and everyone in it.

She’s an incredibly wealthy San Franciscan from the money-changer class who tears your rifle from your hands and then begins rifling through your mail.

She was also good friends with the Reverend Jim Jones of Jonestown Massacre notoriety.

PALS WITH HIM.

Common VPN communication is AES256 encrypted.
I guess either NSA isn’t worried about it or Burr/Swine are too stupid to know this.

“Indian Tribe.” Do you wonder who your Special Masters are now?

Tribal Rights superseded all others - including yours. Tribal Rights are the only ones actually recognized by the Courts ... you have only privileges ... which can be revoked at any given time ... so says SCOTUS.

Sens. Richard Burr (R) of North Carolina and Dianne Feinstein (D) of California should be stripped of their positions for introducing a bill that would endanger American digital security and privacy.

All of us in California know who Feinswein is, I'll let the North Carolinians deal with the Comrade Burr Commissar...

The strongest possible plan to get rid of these wannabe (in Feinswine's case long term) tyrants is to start the movement now. If they are not planning to retire soon, maybe a strong push might persuade them in the right direction.

In my case living in the Central Valley, my experience from a few years ago is that a delegation of farm owners traveled to DC to plead for help in restoring access to water supplies to prevent the richest agricultural land in California from blowing away.

The criminally misguided pressure from the Bugs and bunny crowd, lizards and junk fish given priority over tax paying human beings needs to stop.

After making the delegation wait a long time to see her, her immediate and only response was the arrogant and useless elected DC criminal response, adding insult to injury...

IT'S THE LAW!, DEAL WITH IT!!

Burning at the stake would be too kind a fate for the witch!

Pretty sad when the entire brain trust of the US Gov’t can’t crack a phone encryption and hackers can do it in a few minutes.

Tribal Rights

How about those ‘dead’ languages, and Navajo Code Talkers?

‘Tribal Rights’ are a legal concept having nothing to do with language, ‘dead’ or otherwise. But they do have the Right to tell you what to do, and how high to jump should they find something they want which you have. So ruled SCOTUS three times.

I did not write well.

Intended to make a smart remark about how could the Feds ‘make’ Native Americans ‘decode’ their language, such as Navajo.

Or what if it is a dead/dying language that no one knows anymore?

Maybe they threaten them with smallpox blankets. (Or today that would be Resistant TB, Zika, Ebola, etc.)

I fear the Fed will declare that the ONLY secure storage you can use is to be leased from them so that they have all the keys, full time access, and *ahem* make sure they take taxes when they want. It will be shoved down throats as being the best for the poor, underrepresented, etcetera.

Certain members of the “US” Congress have no
resistance to giving US military secrets to the
Red Chinese (clintons) or al Qaeda (Obama, clinton, mccain);
nor do they have any resistance from directing
the IRS against anyone who speaks up about THEIR
behavior which is usually called ‘treason’ in the
rare, rare case of accountability.
