That Moment When 2016 Hits You (Noonan)

Have you had your 2016 Moment? I think you probably have, or will. The Moment is that sliver of time in which you fully realize something epochal is happening in politics, that there has never been a presidential year like 2016, and suddenly you are aware of it in a new, true and personal way. It tends to involve a poignant sense of dislocation, a knowledge that our politics have changed and won’t be going back.

To save America from falling into the abyss the new president will HAVE to do 2 things which the presidents of the past few decades of America's decline have not done.

1. Stop the flood of illegals invasion with a wall. WE all know this illegals’s invasion will destroy the USA if not stopped now(look at what they've already turned California into).

2. Trade with china. bring back factories which produce good jobs. Politicians and presidents have exported good jobs and factories and the middle class. now most liberal college idiots the best job they can hope for after graduation is head barista at starbucks. : can;t have a country with no factories nor middle class. China has perpetrated the biggest theft in history against the USA.

Only Trump will do these 2 things. Only Trump can save America.

China has stolen our jobs, factories, technology, wealth , production capability, etc. It's the biggest theft in history.

My second moment came today. The headlines read Illegal immigration at all time high, One out of every five families NO ONE works, Felons to vote in VA - Clinton proud, Chelsea Clinton now that Scalia gone go for gun control.

Overall, Noonan has best the most tolerant among WSJ writers when it comes to Trump.

My opinion is Trump can win even if up to 30% of the Cruzerites sit out the election. He has a strong pull of Democrats who have been sidelined for years by the progressives. They’re just itching to get out under that thumb.

I watched dumbly, tiredly. Then for no reason—this is true, it just doesn’t sound it—I thought of an old Paul Simon song that had been crossing my mind, “The Boy in the Bubble.” I muted the TV, found the song on YouTube, and listened as I stared at the soundless mile of cars and the soundless demonstrators. As the lyrics came—“The way we look to a distant constellation / That’s dying in a corner of the sky / . . . Don’t cry baby / Don’t cry”—my eyes filled with tears. And a sob welled up and I literally put my hands to my face and sobbed, silently, for I suppose a minute. Because my country is in trouble.

Well, she's right the country is in trouble. . .but, more to the point, I think SHE'S in trouble and is about to crack up. . holy moly what a self-absorbed winch!

I have been thinking about Noonan the way you say for awhile. She does carry on in spite of being an emotional wreck. She longs for a political fantasy world that never existed. Yes, our country is in trouble and it will take more than tears and sentiment for us to get back on track.

Talking about abortion or transgender bs is not going to save America. Only stopping the illegals invasion and the stopping exporting of factories to China .The president can affect trade deals and build a wall . A president can't affect abortion nor trans-gender bs. Only Trump will stop illegals and China. So only Trump can save America.

Crux is just another slimy politician opportunist out to enrich himself . Cruz has shown no inclination to keep America's sovereignty nor even one to be pro-American
