With the death Thursday of Prince Rogers Nelson, you may see a strange mix on your Facebook feed of sex and religion.
Thats because perhaps one of the raunchiest, steamiest pop culture figures in the past quarter-century was a conservative Christian. Religious and spiritual themes ran through a huge amount of his work, including this tiny sampling of lyrics:

Jehovah’s Witnesses are not Christians.
...”Can you explain to me a reason they would want to cover for him?”....
Sure...he’s Hollywood.
You're confusing Jehova's Witnesses with Christian Science. It's Christian Scientists who avoid docs and prescription drugs.
He was a fan of BLM and his best friend was CNN’s Van Jones so I’m sure he was no conservative. Also a drug addict.
Well said. Some of us were pretty fond of him.
Jehova’s Witnesses even avoid caffeine.
Jehovah’s Witnesses follow the bible and believe in Jesus and the words he said as sacred.
Get a copy of the new world translation and read John 1:1. They believe not in the Biblical Jesus, but rather in a false Jesus of their own creation, just like the Muslims and Mormons.
I saw some article that talked about his “house”. Concert hall/ dance hall where he would throw concerts for $10 a head. A top-notch production studio, etc. $10 million built in the 80’s or 90’s. I hope that he has a company that will carry it on - sounds like a great place for the local musicians to use.
Also one of the finest musicians of our generation. Can I mourn his passing, or will you not approve?
Sure about that? Jehova Witnesses don’t even avoid
alcohol. They are big on moderation, however. They also
do not celebrate birthdays with parties or associate
themselves with July 4th activities. To them Christmas is
a pagan celebration created by man and not authorized by
the Lord.

I thought his “Revolution” band was special, and didn’t like his subsequent bands as much. But the show he did at the Suoer Bowl a few years ago stands out as the pinnacle of professionalism: he played in a serious rainstorm and acted like nothing was going on.
Dear Author,
You pose a position that is incorrect. Yes, Prince authored some “raunchy” lyrics. Then he converted and as part of that conversion he stopped singing the most offensive songs, for example “Darling Nikky” was removed from his concert play lists.
People can grow and change throughout their lives. Most of us do have “turning points.”
He was married to a woman, whatever that is worth.
Prince’s Super Bowl show was one of the best ever.
Nobody has topped it since.
Non-drinking Vegan Jehovahs Witness
He was a conspiracy theorist who believed in “Chemtrails”.
We must be neighbors. I live only a mile from Paisley Park. I haven’t lived here that long though. My daily walk takes me within 100 yards of PP. It was a zoo there last night and will be much more crowded this weekend I’m sure.
